RWC 2015 Qualifiying

After this weekend's games, I have compiled the last few weeks of stats, and wow, almost missed it, we are at 997 tries in qualifying so far according to my count!!! Poland-Moldova and Germany-Czech Republic will be fighting for 1000th try in qualifying!

*Also, anyway we can sticky this in the international test forum? Had to dig deep to find this!

Was able to import into Google Docs, can now view whole project online or just download.

that's a great job!

by the way, i didn't like that some countries are in less than 2 games eliminated, like mexico. i mean, the RWCQ's should bring some bunch of test matches to all unions. couple of practice games and a well organized group of matches with at least 4 unions playing home away.
how can we develope or show our people our game if we only have 2 games a year and of couse without any media around.

Moldova did beat Poland, 21-12, but Moldova is unable to secure bonus point.

Germany beat the Czech Republic 76-12, pounding in 3 converted tries in last 5-6 minutes.

With those two results, Germany have very nearly secured their spot in play-off vs. Netherlands next month. Germany have a 5 pt advantage right now with 1 match to play at Sweden in 3 weeks (Sweden last place for 2013-14, second-to-last for overall 2012-14 cycle). Moldova have 2 matches remaining, they need to hope that Sweden can hold Germany to only 4 table points, maximum, and Moldova get two bonus point wins. If Germany earn a single bonus point in that game Moldova loses out.

BUT, it might not matter.

If Moldova don't get at least a bonus point vs. Ukraine next week, they'll be eliminated because they'll still be 5pts down unable to overtake Germany...

Yeah Moldova are improving but that German lead looks pretty much uncatchable, really looks like just a mathematical issue at this point, I beleive this also means, Poland has been formally eliminated from 2015 participation.

Poland's Tomasz Gasik scored 1000th try in RWC Qualifying in the 37th minutes during the match vs. Moldova last week!

In addition, Moldova beat Ukraine 28-8 (with bonus point).

Quick side note, the Germany at Netherlands match was the 100th match in European qualifying (190 played overall).

Didn't realise Germany were so close to qualifying! Is this the furthest they've gone? Probably not worth getting the hopes up too much against the Russians though I'm guessing?

It would be pretty surprising for them to beat Russia, though I certainly wouldn't put it in the impossible category. Even if they pulled off the upset they'd still have a few games to win in the repechage round. My guess is the Bears will win woth a comfortable but not outlandish margin, as long as they get their best team out.

Germany weren't convincing last week, as the 1B winners only beat 2A winners Netherlands 17-7. While Russia hasn't been strong against the likes of Georgia and Romania they have become nearly dominant against the likes of Spain, Portugal, Belgium (or whoever 6th team is). I'd expect Russia to outclass Germany, even though they're traveling.

Even if Germany lose the game, it would be great for them to perform against a tier 2 nation prior the next years ENC. perhaps a couple of test match in november against Belgium or any other team? not bad!

Japan have put up some unreal numbers through 7 qualifier matches.

So, does Hong Kong still have a chance (although very unlikely)?
And, the spelling "Chinese Tapei" must be changed. Under the current system, "Taipei" is wrong and "Taibei" (Táiběi) is correct.

Yeah Hong Kong still have a couple of chances, they can either

1) Beat Japan this weekend, the most unlikely scenario and one that frankly would be pretty shocking. This would put them as Asia #1 and straight into the RWC.

2) After losing to Japan, beat Uruguay in the repechage semi finals and than beat another team(likely Russia) in the Repechage finals. This is a long haul but is probably more probable than them, straight out beating Japan.

Likely they'll lose to Japan and follow that with a slightly smaller loss to Uruguay but it's not completely impossible for them to get on a good run.

By the way, I do not understand why Hong Kong team still exists. There should be one China team, although unification with Chinese Taibei would be impossible now, but unification of the PRC, Hong Kong, and Macau team must be possible.
