World Rugby Under 20 Championship 2019

I dont think so. Following that logic people would stop playing altogether. Stepping into the enclosure increases your chances of brain damage vs not doing so.

I'm not saying people would catapult themselves into other people's shoulders with complete disregard to safety. What i am saying is that if shoulder vs head contact = penalty +card, ball carriers can exploit that to their advantage given that they have a huge saying on whether that contact happens or not. I feel we are leaving defenders with very few realistic options.

Picture this. World cup quarterfinals. 2 minutes to go, you are two points down. You are 14 against 15, you have the ball in the opponents 22, but they are holding strong.
If you tell me ball carriers won't look for that sort of penalties then you are way more optimistic that i am.

We (myself included, of course) as fans are a tiny bit hypocritical when it comes to this. We complain and claim to be worried when we see some stats but then we applaud when a player puts his body on the line. We take it as an example of commitment.
I agree, they wouldnt go face to shoulder but dip into contact ofcourse they would. High tackle mittigating factor player dipped into it....still a pen even if theres no yellow. Team wins, world cup semi or quarter then many would take one for the team. I dont like it but its playing the rules to your advantage.

It's the third time the junior wallabies hold the bc up and win the turnover with 2-3 pumitas close by that inexplicably dont join to help. Unbelievably stupid from us.

So only got to watch the first half of the Wales vs New Zealand game due to the delay, the broadcast was cut short. Any Wales win against the junior All Blacks should be celebrated, so even though I do think the weather acted as a bit of a leveller, it was still a performance to take a lot from.

I don’t think we won a line out in the first half and not sure whether that was down to Dewi Lakes throw or the ball being like a bar of soap... but he was a colossus in the loose, as was Refell and Morgan. Conbeer and Cai Evans also had good first half’s, with Wheeler and Lewis looking decent also. Well done boys.

So typically English. Concede and then make a stupid error and compound errors with more errors.

Yellows being thrown around too easily now. When a players head is at the height of your crotch and falling it should not be a high tackle.

Solid win for les Bleuets. Back to back final. Geraci, Haddad, Joseph in the forwards are my pick. Rayne Barka has been a revelation at hooker. What a generation.

Yeah, top team as are the Ozzie’s so should be a cracking final. Just out of interest, what the hell do you think happened when you played the Argies?

Couldn't tell ya. Missed the game :D was surprised by scoreline. Just the one bad game they needed to get out of their system. Shud be a cracking final.

Couple of good players, but I have only see one guy worthy of Cruz's "holy **** this guy is good" award: Fraser McReight.
His pace, his reading of the game, his defense, his rucking. Outstanding stuff.

What this tournament could have been for Ireland. Should get a bunch of provincial caps out of the guys who represented the 20s this year. Some great talent.

Tuima's yellow was fair but the others were all abit soft.

Still think players dipping or slipping into contact amd causing it to be high sometimes should be a bigger mittigating factor than it is. If a player dipped then it shouldnt be a card unless it was wreckless and going to be clearly high before the dip into contact.
