A Political Thread pt. 2

Amazes me this person is still in politics, a lifetime of scandals and drama...

From cheating on his wife, drink driving and fleeing from the scene, running a sugar daddy website, a blackmail scandal, bullying of other board members, and then making the claim he was raped (no idea how accurate that is), and now has been harassing his ex wife.

Hahaha come on dude, your arguing for the sake of it. Mining was slave labour essentially, until the strikes then it all but died out. Unions managed % massive pay rises in the 70s, but going from £6 to £18 and then working your way up to £100 per week, and let's say that rose to £138 at one point after 1980, your squabbling about pennies, and blaming the generation earning it for hoarding all the wealth hahaha.

Have some perspective
Absolutely BS yet again and shows your ignorance yet again. Mining absolutely wasn't slave labour. It was hard work but it paid well. Your dad obviously never went near a coal mine.

Hahahaha

Thats where all the wealth went, the boomer coal miners are hoarding it all and racing their lambos up and down the South Wales streets hahahaha

You solved it, congrats.

Every wage number he's quoted in some instances misquoted is the direct result of a Google search. Doesn't take into account in some instances of miners being paid piece work.

Or their very good pension. He called it slave labour which is funny if it was that bad why did the miners fight so hard to keep their pits open?

He just makes it up. One week he's a property tycoon the next he's picking litter, then he's a bedroom based city trader who doubles up as case worker for underprivileged kids and now he's describing a life probably thinking of the hovis advert.

I don't know...I was always thinking mining is a slave labour tbh, it's an incredibly hard work with a huge negative impact on your health as well as your life expectancy (which not worth any money imo). I'm glad that miners have a good pension at least

They got paid well in the UK, had a good pension and strong unions. When the pits shut it ripped the heart out of many towns but you are right regards the health problems.

A real Walter Mitty

The government is offering financial incentives to buy electric cars whilst ignoring that they are still more expensive even after the incentives and there isn't the infrastructure for it.

It's such disjointed thinking in this country. Try to get everyone buying electric before building the infrastructure to support it.

Yeh, posted article in tech thread. Holding onto my ICE vehicle for now and reducing usage whilst walking/cycling/taking public transport more instead until I know and can afford it and most importantly the charging point.

As a country we’re really stuck between a rock and hard place when it comes to transitioning to EVs. Way behind the likes of Norway and China in terms of take up.

I get the feeling there is more to this story mainly because its not actually reported what was said on the day.

The second half definitely has an element of dog whistle and spoiling to start a fight.
