As a nation we prefer to call out people who put flags up, but yes I get your sentiment.

People on the far left would never call this out as it's the ultimate purity test on the left. Just how the Trump purity test is saying the 2020 election was rigged the purity test on the far left is to basically be anti semitic.

Bernie Sanders and AOC who are as left as left can be in American mainstream politics fail this test as Sanders still doesn't call it a genocide (how terrible of him) and AOC doesn't think you should defund the iron dome (again how awful)

I keep hearing the term 'purity test' when it comes to the left, I think your bang on with the Palestine issue, although i wouldnt call it basically anti semitic, I think its anti isreali, with a decent proportion who are happy to conflated, and another larger proportion allowing those radicals to do so and not call them out.

But then there is a distinction between the 3 types of the left, theres a right leaning Islam side using the left, a radical hate filled left, and the main stream side idealogicaly confused (specifically in regards to the Palestine issue).

It's the same with the protests at the weekend. If the right were trying to overwhelm the system, or assaulted cops on the scale seen last weekend. There would be up roar.

The same with Tories using barracks to house asylum seekers.

I fully expect the new Home Secretary to be more right wing on protests and small boats. I'd be surprised if much gets said here.

Most normal left wing people are of course not anti semitic and while all anti semites are anti Zionist not all anti zionists are anti semitic. Most people aren't racists. Having said that, with the far or extreme left it's a different story. With a lot of them it goes beyond anti Zionism. Which is why I knew as soon as he posted the Hannibal Directive conspiracy and said hundreds of Israelis were killed by the IDF I knew the type of person I was speaking too. I imagine he was high fiving his mates when October 7th happened.

Actually, sorry, I keep forgetting, October 7th was carried out by the IDF. He was probably outraged.

Within that "live" thread it has now been confirmed that the US were aware beforehand which makes them complicit, once again, of essentially condoning war in the middle east, especially since the US has a large military presence in Qatar and I suppose consider them an ally.

The timing is a bit off, they'll say, perhaps, that it's in response the terror attack yesterday in Jerusalem but it just seems like another thing for Netenyahu to drag out even more and thus delaying his day in court.

Yep, that justifies breaking international law and attacking a separate peaceful nation without provocation. I'm sure you also think it's fine then for Iran to attack US interests in other countries is fine so long as they let them know just beforehand.

I think you're reading into something that I didn't actually say.

I wouldn't be so stupid to say that letting the POTUS know about a strike somehow justifies said attack. If I was to make an argument justifying it I'd probably say don't harbour terrorists a la the Taliban in Afghanistan and you'll probably be alright.

Israel killing people abroad isn't exactly new. They've been door stepping people since the 70's in Paris etc.

An eye for an eye and retaliation for the bus stop shootings by Palestinian Resistance Fighters. Of which there was little condemnation here.

Doesn't make it right but shouldn't be a shock to anyone.
