A Political Thread pt. 2

Another noob US politics question:

Electoral college: do they split their votes based on the vote share of their state, or does the winner just get the whole lot?
i.e. WI is currently 49.4 vs 49.1%, with 10 votes. Is that 5 a piece? 6 vs 4? Or do all 10 go to the winner?
a few states do (although it's more complixacted than that), Maine and Nebraska are the two there is plan to change it.

Is a good video on the subject.

Yeh odds have shrunk a lot in the last 5 mins or so.
UK press seem behind the press in this currently.

I switched full-time to CNN after Raab's interview, having spent the previous couple of hours switching between them and BBC

You don't work today or you are all fans of US politics? :p
One I like politics in general, as to work ummmmm its complicated I get a fair bit leeway but also have depending on what I'm working a fair bit of downtime (I sometime run tests and do build that take 15-20mins)

I switched to CNN the talk about Nevada is starting the squaeky bum time again.

Nevada's going squiffy.

As for work, Wednesday morning is Ali's turn in the office. This week, she gets the whole day as she may not be allowed to work for 4-6 weeks after today

It's crazy how the POC have swung more in favour of Trump.
Depends African Americans seams weird as **** nobody has explained that. Cuban Americans apparently selling the Democrats as socialists *snort" has worked and they have an issue due to communism which makes sense even if they've been sold a lie.

Philadelphia mail in results are crazy:
99.5% (61,000) Biden vs 0.05% (3,100) Trump

I don't really understand this vote counting or electoral college process all that well. Can someone tell me how its going? Is it still really unclear who will win?

Lots of the states are still/have suspended counting for the evening.

And Georgia still waiting on the counting because of a burst water pipe in Atlanta which feels dodgy af hahaha

It's literally neck and neck

Apparently Nevada aren't starting counting again until Thursday,
Why is everything to do with this election process so shoddy?

It further complicated by COVID which means way more mail in ballots have been cast than normal, they tend to skew democrat for two reasons they are more weary about COVID infection than Republicans and they tend to be the urban areas where infection is more likely which also skew democrat. Which is why its taking account the normal democrat skew from mail in ballot ballots means this is far from over,

Also to stop voter fraud (which there are no elgitmate claims for) it takes longer to process all the gumph so counting those votes take time.

Just to add the skew according to CNN in some areas are 70% of ballots sent out are for registered democrats.

BOOM: Trump margin just dropped by 120K in Michigan.

If trump doesn't get Michigan he needs PA and Wisconsin.
I don't think he will get Wisconsin.

IMO it's game over for Trump now.
Wish I place more money down.

#2024West!

He'll also need Georgia which has the same issue as all of them.

Nevada is the big ohhh error bit in the Math currently.

Georgia is less likely to go Blue than Wisconsin TBH.
But yeh IMO trump needs too many toss ups to go his way with the mail in which is 70-80% Dem.
