A Political Thread pt. 2

Sure, but you haven't said where else in Israel would be considered "safe" even temporarily. Israel is a small country hence why they've shoehorned Palestinians into Gaza, West Bank.

The only other place would be the Golan Heights. Is that even habitable?
You've got that wrongly, Israel invaded and seized and occupied Gaza and the west bank and have refused to cede them back.

Israel is now pushing settlers into the west bank and taking land from the Palestinians.

It is internationally recognised that this is illegal by everyone except the us

I'm not saying it would be easy and it's probably why I would rule out your suggestion of the Golan heights in the north as it's a long way to go.

You know Hamas hide in plain sight anyway don't you?
Not easy? It’s just a non starter especially for the Israelis for the reason you’ve just given.

Ok, please try and keep up. I am not questioning the rights and wrongs of Israeli occupation, but questioning Welsh’s idea of temporary removal of Gazans into Israel to remove Hamas completely and then move them back.

Did you know Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005?

The more I read of the Rafah plan the more and more it sounds like a ghetto designed to lock away all Palestinians. I'm sure after Israel will then find another 'solution'.

I said before that if Israel ever got to the stage where they acted like the Nazis then I would say so and it would not be antisemitic. If they go through with this plan it will be no different than the ghettos created by the Nazis and the final step before mass killings of Palestinians.

Isn't there talk in the Israeli government of doing such a thing?

To fully eliminate Hamas wouldn't the Hamas leadership based in Qatar also have to be eliminated?

Even then there is nothing stopping Iran from sponsoring a relaunch later on or a new terrorist group to take their place. The stated goal just seems very unrealistic to me and looks to be serving as a ruse to achieve other goals already highlighted on here.

If you compare it with Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine, Russia has never actually specified what all it's goals are. It has just said that the special operation will continue until all goals have been achieved.

Holy ****, 2nd defector this week, 4th in 14 days...

Do they see the writing on the wall, or is this poor judgement?
Poor judgement. We've been here with Farage's parties time and time again. He starts/joins them, make headlines because the news are desperate for content and then they all turn out to be nuts or useless and fall apart.

Im partly hoping you are right tbh, but I don't think discounting them is going to help deal with them.

I was just shocked reading 4 in 2 weeks, then theres the labour splinter party that may or may not involve Corbyn, the collapse of Tories and what looks to be a Tory style slide for Labour...

Are we en route to a more European style coalition trend?

No unless we change our electoral system to PR.

Personally I would say withdrawing all the settlers and removing any military presence to allow the people to vote for who they want was them pulling out of Gaza. They even dug up the dead Jews and took them out of Gaza.

Let’s put it this way, do you think it would be a good thing, and would get us closer to peace in the region, if Israel pulled out the settlers from the West Bank?

Farage is like a gobshite who has delivered nothing and has a few failed start ups under his belt and yet his supporters think he's got what it takes to be CEO of Apple or Microsoft.

More like every start up sky rockets before he bails.

You know what they say about successful people, failure is part of the journey, you only have to be successful once.

Downplaying Farages influence is dangerous, we dont want 12 months of media and celebs laughing at him running up to a general election do we?!

I didn't downplay his influence. I have said many times that he is an excellent communicator - probably the best across all parties.

I just question his record of building a party that isn't riddled with wrong uns. If he can't even do that he has little chance of being able to run a country competently.

You'll have to forgive me, these quotes seem like he has succeeded at nothing, UKIPs performance was an unmitigated success, as is reforms current rise.

He could be deemed the driving force behind Brexit.

So to say he's delivered nothing, and call UKIPs rise and influence surrounding Brexit a failed start up are silly comments.
