A Political Thread pt. 2

Does that make you happy?
No. See my above response to @Welsh Exile. A strong UK with lots of disposable income helps the birthplace of rugby. I want rugby to thrive. I don't want to see the UK lose 6 teams in 5 years.

I want a strong Wales, a strong Scotland, and a strong English rugby landscape. If the home nations are strong, rugby is in a better place globally.

You should’ve made Rob Mcelhenny and Ryan Reynolds buy the Ospreys and not stupid Wrexham. I blame you.

I bet on this board JB from Eggchasers is not too popular, but he's my favorite and his insights into Welsh rugby are very interesting b/c he grew up in the North.

Essentially, rugby is so deeply ingrained in Welsh culture that Welsh rugby decisions are more akin to politics than those of a typical sports organization. From the outside looking in, that looks remarkably accurate.

We’re still just as tribal as we were before we were colonised as well which doesn’t help.

Or their very good pension. He called it slave labour which is funny if it was that bad why did the miners fight so hard to keep their pits open?

He just makes it up. One week he's a property tycoon the next he's picking litter, then he's a bedroom based city trader who doubles up as case worker for underprivileged kids and now he's describing a life probably thinking of the hovis advert.
Jesus H christ, have you completed a case study in Harry?!?!

This is a bit creepy, are you that invested in me that you can't believe I can have a full time job,
Own a few houses, pick litter while walking the dog and log onto Etoro once in a while? Hahahahaha

I bet you make a great psycho ex wife hahaha
Check you're eligible
You can get a Motability car or vehicle if you've been awarded:

 • the higher rate of the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
 • the enhanced rate of the mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
 • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) or War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement
 • the enhanced rate of the mobility component of Adult Disability Payment
 • the higher rate of the mobility component of Child Disability Payment

Looks like the article was right.
I want read the article, but if your claiming anxiety can get tou a car, technically you are wrong and right.

PIP isn't awarded by diagnosis, its broken into 2 sections, care and mobility components. If your anxiety effects your ability to independently live, or get around then you are awarded PIP.

Diagnosis are used as evidence, but arent a determining factor.

The enhanced payment referenced is about £75 a week currently and if you are awarded this its because your mobility is severely impaired, and you can essentially withdraw this £75 per week and get a car under the mobility scheme.

Well well well, I might have been momentarily incorrect, but directionally right.

Some excerpts:

A surge in the number of people claiming disability benefits has seen the number of Motability customers rise by about 200,000 over the past two years to 815,000. People exchange some of their disability benefits for access to a car, helping them get around and giving them independence.

Such is its scale, nearly one in five new cars sold in Britain today now comes from Motability.

Clearly a bunch of people are part of some organized disability crime ring exploiting this.

Expansion has not been fuelled by any boardroom wizardry so much as a surge in the number of people claiming benefits. The number of people entitled to Personal Independence Payments (Pip), Britain's main disability benefit, has jumped from 2.6m in 2020 to 3.6m last year. It is forecast to rise to 4.2m claimants by 2030, according to estimates published by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

The bill for sickness and disability benefits is on course to hit £100bn before the end of the decade, rising from £65bn last year. The rapid rise is placing intense pressure on public finances and causing growing alarm in Westminster.

Well I am glad all these recently disabled people have luxury cars to ride around in. Meanwhile, @Welsh Exile is stuck riding his 15 year old bike around town. Good news is he has great quads.

Well apparently the labor party sees it as an issue because it plans to cut budgeting for the program in the next budgeting session.

Labour sees it as a issue because voters love to blame the most vulnerable and people below them as the reason for their own misery.

The people who actually pass the threshold for mobility claims would prob rather not have a disability. Remember these are not people who suffer from anxiety and adhd.

Labour are appealing to people who have no intention of ever voting for them sadly

You've had a 400%+ increase in the program in the last few years. That doesn't raise suspicions on your end?
