Driving back from Devon and people are putting Union Flags up on the motorway bridges. Is this some reform rage bait crap I've not heard about?
Ive been reading about this last night...
After the Birmingham story of removing SG cross flags, apparently because newer lampposts werent stable enough to hold flags, there was a bit of a backlash.
A few key videos went around after that, of a guy being stopped by police with a flag, and a council worker removing flags, while arguing with the cameraman on why he needs to have a flag of his country, while the worker was wearing a Jamaican flag hat.
Since then 'operation raise the colours' has started online, all over the UK.
For me, this is as harmless civil disobedience you can get, and I like it. Ill never understand why the pearl clutching about a nations flag causes people to set off on tirades, ive been all over the world and only really England and USA have this issue, seemingly as they are the biggest melting pots culturally. EdIT, forgot the Germans, they hate their flag!!!!
Nobody bats an eye at the Scottish, or the most beautiful and fearsome flag on the planet, so why shouldn't the English get to fly theirs?
Most arguments ive seen against it is from ideologues online, who call everything racist in general.
My kind of neighbour flies both a Wales and St George cross, and unbelievably respectfully he puts the Wales above, as its Welsh soil. More power to him!
This is just again, stupid mismanagement of a silly situation, that benefits reform!
