Of course it was small, 600k more people voted remain to leave the EU, 400k more voted to remain in the UK than leave it, in favt more people voted to remain in the UK than in the EU 2 years later.

These numbers are pretty comparable no?

Again its like your googling things as you go, the numbers have been published for a decade!

So in 2014 2 million people voted for scotland to remain in the UK, then 2 years later 1.6million voted for the UK to remain in the EU. Noone voted for Scotland to remain in the EU, it was minor in the referendum, and wasnt an option 2 years later.

Farage would also give Scottish independence a shot in the arm. Labour have taken a lot of the heat off the SNP this past year and Scotland will never warm to someone like Farage as PM.

Scotland and N Ireland voted 62% and 58% respectively to remain in the EU. If one leaves the UK I don't think the other will be far behind and it would be glorious for that to be owned by Reform or the Tories in their pursuit of Brexit and little Britain.

It's no different to the Tories eventually agreeing to it previously. Point blank refusal will see support for it grow as it'll be framed as the democratic will of Scots being ignored by those nasty right wing toffs in London - especially if Reform make a dog's dinner of the economy and running the country in general as the case will grow that Scotland can do better. Also the last vote was described by many including the Tories as a 'once in a generation' vote.

FWIW I didn't want Scotland to leave the UK in 2014 but Brexit and a possible Reform Govt are game changers.

You're making statements like you have the inside track on what Reform are going to say or do when you don't know any more than the rest of us. PM Farage will be despised up north and will be a gift to support for Scottish independence.

I don't have an inside track. Reform is a far right party that won't feel obligated to stick to what previous governments did.

Every British Govt will bat it away initially but if the SNP get their act together and get majority support on a manifesto that includes a second referendum then they'll have a very strong case democratically. Refusal by Reform after that would then undermine democracy and then the fun begins.
