Canada: moving forward.

Good and Bad news for Canadian rugby fans...the good news. Buydens has signed a two year deal with Manawatu in New Zealand....http://www.stuff.co.nz/manawatu-standard/sport/8957769/New-Turbos-prop-turns-back-on-tests

...the bad news...he misses out on the RWCQ's next month. Thankfully the US scrum is pretty dreadful as well, but it's a blow from what looked like would be a full strength Canadian side...I assume Tieddemann starts, along with Marshall. Dolezel and Wooldridge will probably be on the bench.

If we have to have Buydens missing for two tests, I'm glad that it's against the US where his absence shouldn't be that big of a deal. And I agree that most likely Tiedemann starts.

Also of note, Paris' contract with Agen is for two years instead of the standard "one year Canadian contract." Nice to see that Agen has some faith in him!

Disappointed about Buydens missing the RWCQ's, but I can understand his decision, good luck to him. Hopefully the rumours about O'Leary are true, that could mean we could see him in a Canada jersey by next year.

It is a pretty good list, but you have added players that will almost surely never play for Canada again. I counted 16 that are really in the loop to play for Canada.

Also, don't forget we have DSD, McCann and O'Leary all over in Europe that will play for Canada, perhaps sooner than later. Thats a good foundation for the future of RC's national team.

Definately.....Josh Jackson is certianly done with the side, as probably is Sean Michael Stephen(though even Pletch came back last year ahhhhh). Kohler is probably out of the picture at the moment, but maybe if he really takes off and gets back up to the RFU he can put his name back into contention, I think it's somewhat unlikely but I won't totally write him off yet.

Edit: I totally forgot to throw MCann in there, which D2 side was he with this season? Also couldn't fnd offical confirmation on O'Leary yet.

Then we just cap him during the RWCQ's next month.;)

He might get capped in November, if Ireland wants him they should probably make a move soon. Crowley could easily put him in for five minutes vs. a side like Uruguay or Russia this November.

I was taking the **** about caping him in the August, but this November he should be. Unless, we cap him during the ARC, but doubt that will happen. Both he and McCann need to be capped Asap.

Would the ARC count? I'm pretty sure last year they weren't capped games. Unless Canada "A" locks our guys in, I'm really not sure.
