A shame that Sean Duke keeps being left out. I thought he looked improved in June until he got injured.

Wing is probably our deepest position, Paris has been left out and we have some very good wingers coming up too? Some of them should learn how to play centre if hey want to help their selection chances. I think Hassler could be a good centre.

Duke's a great speedster on the wing, but I find him a little more limited than our other backs most of whom can cover multiple positions, he's a vital part of the 7's program though and think he'll still pop in from time to time on the XV's.

I was thinking this the other day too. While DTH is slippery, Hassler is the kind of guy who tries to hammer through defences. Might be worth experimenting with Hassler at 13 against Romania or Portugal.

Agree, with O'Leary coming off the bench to 10. :)

O'leary needs to be capped against Portugal, hat is the perfect time to do it.

Any info on ticket sales?

I've heard pretty much nothing on ticket sales, weather looks perfect and the CNE is on at the same time which might generate a decent walk up crowd. Rugby Canada have not been boasting about attendance(nor does it appear they are absolutely desperate) don't think they'll get near the Ireland game, but I should think 12,000 is a very reachable target.

Hassler will play for the Osprey this weekend apparently.

LOL, I wondered whether that virus was "notreleaseitius" have an odd feeling that Cudmore's injury isn't so severe he couldn't be put in the lineup, and Mackenzie came off the bench last week not to **** off Sale. Nor did they kick up a stink about Buydens not being available.

I don't think we'd be annoyed if MacKenzie played, probably the opposite! - always been very happy to have players play internationally. I remember Diamond fighting to try and get the PRL to allow Peel to play for the Barbarians.

Surprised not to see any changes in that backline, guess Crowley thinks that they were starting to fire on all cylinders in that second half.

Yeah I'm surprised as well, specifically with Hearn being left in not that he played horribly, but didn't add that extra special touch that DTH has at 13.

@poopie, if your heading to the game you really can't miss me, I'm a loud, short(very....according to some), fairly stocky guy with a great tan (LOL feel like this is a gay dating site now.), I'll most likely be wearing a plain red t-shirt as part of the REDNATION thing they are running. I'll most likely be in the beer patio pre match. My real name is Doug...I'll have to ask rugger if he's going than we can get together have some beers and make fun of Daypuck pre game.

I won't be attending this match unfortunately, going up to my buddies place in Petawawa for a "Guns, Beer and Camping" party.... yes I am that much of a redneck :D

I am sad I am going to be missing it though, would love to make fun of Daypuck with yah on the terrace littleguy!

I completely agree with you though, I feel the reason we are seeing some of our guys left off the pitch is clearly due to a case of releasitis :( which is unfortunate given how important these fixtures are.

I love it, just take a couple of hours away and find the game on!!! I can't keep everyone updated from there(or is it here?)....it will be fun seeing the CNE, Toronto's version of a country fair shold be pretty humourous looks like I'll have to avoid the food though...http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2013/08/22/toronto-cne-cronut-investigation-illness.html

Jeff Hassler's playing a pre-season friendly against Worcester this weekend. I'm actually kinda annoyed, as I want players playing for their national teams, and this is an irrelevant game for us, whereas it's important for Canada, and would love to see him play in it. But never mind.

What do you do LG?

Farm in Niagara, mostly grapes, some berries, used to do hay(uggghhhh) and off farm work(building maintenance, grass cutting, greenhouse work) but narrowed that as the place got more succesful.
