Charging down Conversion attempts

In Super Rugby game Crusaders v Reds (Round 11, 06/05/2016), Reds' conversion attempt was denied by Crusaders' charging down.
I saw this for the 1st time. How likely does this play happen? 1/1000 or less?
Interestingly, charging down of conversion attempts is not allowed in 7s.:huh:

And i'm pretty sure the reason you can't charge in 7's is because you have to drop kick.

Blues Player charged down a Bath conversion under the posts after a penalty try. :lol: very odd that one!

I charged a conversion down once. It hurts like absolute buggery I can tell you. Made worse by the sheer surprise, because you never expect it to actually happen

Charging down a conversion attempt was the highlight of my school rugby career.

In retrospect I think they might have been aiming at me.

I have posted about this before, and in my opinion the act should be removed. Its pointless and unnecessary - also why can't the other 14 players of the kicking team be involved? Why is in 15 v 1?
What if the very rare happens and the ball topples over then the kicker hurriedly attempts a dropkick? do the charging players tackle him or hit the ball? Stupid part of the game for me!

Very rare in the pro game. More of an occurance in school or amateur. I've charged down plenty during my school days having been appointed as right winger to make an attempt at every conversion but only ever 1 propoer charge down. The rest (a fair few mind you) were all due to the ball falling over and the kicker just has no chance from there if you were following up with 'due dilligence'.

In the pro game you either need to be rappid as all hell, the kicker is either veeery slow or soething dodgy is up. Here is one where Habana is just fast and accurate enough;
