Good, interesting mix of stuff - made me think of a few things, but not worth listening to after about 4 mins, so 7/10.

Sinister waltz:

9/10. Makes you want to climb on a stage dressed as an Italian noble and slap some guy with your glove, and ask for a duel. The paintings are very Ghibli-esque, but probably not in a good way...

This is pure awesomness. I think you'll like the piano Shtove, as he's obviously a classical background and mixes well the jazz and a vey lyrical way of playing. Obviously the drums are orgasmic and the bass is very good as well.

This is my first upload and the sound quality is not the greatest, so apologies for that.

No idea what ghibli-esque meant. Found this video -

For some reason it has a waltz in 3/4 time - reminded me of the sinister waltz. Is that what you meant?

Sound quality on your upload is good. I enjoyed the drums - great skill - and the piano is good. But I didn't get the shivers, so 7vergule5/10.

How to suffocate while singing (lyrics below the video):

8/10, always a fan of a good old jig.

hadn't realised how good this tune was until it was played at a very cracked out afterparty on saturday morning. Perfectly chilled-but-not-depressing.

7/10

I could see my wife and I going to a club downtown enjoying the atmosphere that these two create. I think this music has always been under appreciated. An enjoyable upright bass section always makes my day.

Here is a band from Chicago that is just starting to get noticed. One particular fan of theirs is Jonsi of Sigur Rós. I can understand why.

A Lull "Weapons For War"

No idea about the name of the song, the lyrics, or the video. But it sounds excellent - 9/10. I listened to skinny fingers on youtube as well - same feel to it, lots of interesting percussion and rhythm, but still too art school. More clarity in lyrics and theme could make it great.

So that put me in the mood for more sophisticated stuff from the US, but I went for this:

Yes, lovely melody - 9/10. They say his great phase began when he married Kathleen Brennan in the early '80s. Can't praise swordfishtrombones enough.

Cheeba cheeba - Tone Loc has a funny song with this ***le, same kind of thing as "piano has been drinking" but better. Here's George Benson in '70s Harlem (kind of repetitive because ... he's stoned):

4/10. The sort of music that should stay in the 70s.

Awesome reworking here by Jack Beats:

Sounds good, no idea what she's singing about. Rhythm is a bit stuck up.

Edit: forgot rating - 5/10.

Love song:

Not one of my favourites, so 7/10. Would like to see him live.

Cohen got screwed over by his manager a few years ago, so he has to tour again for money. You see a fair bit of that with old bands, although the general problem is royalties drying up. These guys are joining in:
