how did i know thaat would be something satanic before i clicked!! well, I used to be well into my slipknot and spineshank and the like, and i still listen to it every now and again. so i'm gonna give it a 5/10 for sounding like corey and his pals and bringing back memories, halfmarks because it's nothing that hasn't been done before.

more house music but whatever, this should get your feet tapping

Yeah, good foot tapper. Builds nicely, but doesn't go anywhere, so 8/10.

The original sample:

Ugandan court music - almost wiped out in the '60s, but BBC recordings from the '40s are bringing it back. Heard it on the radio.

ps. I was going to post I've Got A Brand New Combine Harvester (And I'll Give You The Key).

This guy should drink bleach and eviscerate himself. Style himself as jimi Hendrix to play some annoying, done-a-million-time-already pop song...The gall...

For some reason I just can't like music made with computers...It's just too robotic...4/10.

It's Spring, some romanian gipsy music.

Hehe, brilliant. Smiled all the way through - wish I could hear that stuff every weekend without paying £30 a ticket. 10/10.

Lyrics on top line of score - sting at the end:

beautiful sounds, and makes a change to hear that kind of music where they're not prattling on about god. 8/10.

not sure quite why this song stands out in particular for me, just has a real rawness to it. all done in one take with minimal production.

Neutral Milk Hotel - Oh Comely - 8/10

Without a doubt one of the most underrated bands of all-time. This isn't my favorite song on the album, but still wonderfully written.

Tigers That Talked - In The Pockets Of Your Winter Coat

Never heard of them. I likes it, but not sure what it's about. 7/10.

There's a complicated story about the pitch changes in Strawberry Fields Forever - two different versions recorded, Lennon told Martin to splice them. Anyway, here's a rough version. I like the drumming.

Like the style, but a bit slow. I'm not old enough to have the attention span. 7/10.

Someone posted this on another thread. **** your Honda Civic, I've a horse outside. Good luck with the accent:

You posted his stuff before. Good, but why is he recording in a windy field with traffic noise? 7/10.

Good. Like the faces. Tower of Babel, multicultural - but no view on how it's going to pan out. 7/10.

6/10. sounds like what the 80s would have sounded if they'd had 21st century production.

just spent a week speaking Gaidhlig up in Skye, this song came up a few times in the pub in the evenings (although I remember singing it faster, more like a sea-shanty than a lament..):

The Rankin Family - Chi Mi Na Morbheanna - 8/10

I enjoy this when I'm in the mood for something different. Nice vocals and a simple sound to back them up as the song sweeps through. A few friends of mine are actually combining this style of music with something sort of post-rock.

Speaking of post-rock, this is a beautiful long track.

TWDY - Little Smoke
