Currie Cup Mod

Hey everyone I think we're coming close to nearly finishing the ANZ Cup Mod so I was just wondering if anyone would like to start this mod yet?. I'm gonna have alot of time on my hands in a few weeks because it's coming close to offseason at work and I'm taking some time off so I could do alot of work on this mod.

We'll need to get everything sorted out 1st like who's gonna do rosters, names etc. As soon as we get this sussed out than I think we can start to make this mod. We need to know what teams everybody wants in this patch so all my South African brothers out there please give us your feedback as to what you would like.

If there's anything I've missed out then just post it up and we'll take a look at it.

I will then try to combine the ANZ and Currie cup teams and overwrite the European Trophy.

Yep I'll do the kits if someone can get some good pictures that'll be cool. I can only work on them on weekends because I work away from home not unless someone can get me some pictures within the next 16hours than I can put them on my lappy and take them with me to work on.

If someone hasn't already, I will start roster editing over the next three days. There are 14 Currie Cup unions, (just read on Wikipedia), and there are 16 available team places to add to the Air NZ cup mod - so hopefully, we can work towards a combined SA/NZ patch. The two remaining teams can be decided by a poll. The European trophy can be substituted with a new comp.

Are you talking about making a roster for only the Currie Cup Prem devision or for the 1st devision aswell?Because the Currie Cup Prem devision has 8 teams and the 1st devision has 6 teams.

Ok i have found loads of stuff on some good sites, including kits.

I will make Blue Bulls, Free State Cheetahs, Western Province, Natal Sharks and Lions if they are the same as the photos i have found. I have new photos for Natal (same as last season) Bulls and WP. Cheetahs are the same too i think. I have all the templates from other kits.

I will make WP next awesome kit!

jawmalawm24 and B-rad I don't know what you guys think but we can replace the Heiniken Cup with the ANZ Cup(Heiniken Cup has 22 teams that can be replaced and the ANZ Cup has 16 teams)

and the English Premiership has 12 teams and the Currie Cup Premier Devision has 8 teams.

Or what do you guys think...?

Right, i have done WP and Bulls, but the numbers are not done. Does anyone have photoshop to finish them? I have it but to make the numbers you have to use effects which i can do, but it takes a long time to make 22 numbers with outlines. But they look much better with them.

I would have loved to help with the kitbacks as I have photoshop but I don't know how to apply the effects that you are talking about....also I have photoshop 2.0 so it might be a little outdated

Also I need to know what teams are we gona replace with what teams so I can start with the roster.

Oh yes I just rememberd that all the English Premiership teams are also in the Heiniken Cup,but if you take those 12 teams out we are still left with 12 teams to be replace,just have to check if I can edit the format of the fixtures so that the teams in the Currie Cup play each other 2 times with the semi-final and final,also what is the fixture format of the ANZ Cup?

I have some bad news guys,I can't seem to get the correct fixtuers for the Currie Cup to work,I tried to replace the English Premiership and Heiniken Cup fixtures with the Currie Cup fixtures but both times the game crashed when I wanted to start the comp.

I had to make the number of locations and teams less in the .rsg file,I know its possible for it to work as the guys over at Planet cricket do it with their mods so I don't know what Im doing wrong...?

Any help please KingWilko or Woosaah???or anybody else who knows what Im doing incorrectly?

You can't change the amount of teams in a league, only who plays in it. It has to be like for like, so you'd have to have a 12 team Currie Cup for a straight swap with Premeirship.

I can help double check things though, like squads, kits, player positions and physical attributes and so on if needed?

So far there's only 1 thing wrong. Kockott (Natal no.9) is actually spelt Kockett

Thats crap!!!So we will not be able to make like a real Currie Cup comp then...

So will need to make 12 Currie Cup teams,the 8 in the premiership and then 4 out of the remaining 6 teams from the 1st devision.I have an idea about the fixtures and teams,we can replace the 12 English teams with either the 12 Currie Cup teams or 12 ANZ Cup teams and then replace 12 other european teams(which will leave 4 teams ingame,Bourgoin,Castres,Treviso and Brescia)with either the one or the other,here is an example:

And then as for the fixtures we will have to have 2 sets,one for the currie cup and one for the anz cup.So if you wana play the "currie cup" you will have to use the edited English Premiership fixture file with the 12 english teams and if you wana play the anz cup you will have to use the edited fixture file with the 12 other european teams.

As you all know then we will not be able to edit the fixtures to have the correct fixtures of the comps,so the anz cup will not have quater-finals,only semi-finals and a final and each team will play each other twice,same for the currie cup.

So if we all agree that the teams I've mentioned above will be replaced by the other teams mentioned above
I can start with the roster so long,are we gona use one roster for both comps or one for each?If we are gona use one roster I could do the currie cup teams and b-rad or jawmalawm24 can do the anz cup roster or if someone could give me the correct team info I could also do it.


As all of english teams and the other european teams are gona be replace,all international players in those teams will have to be replaced by other players that are not in club squads doesn't matter for which country they play so that all international squads will remain the same.

*The teams listes are the teams that are gona be replaced by the teams next to them?
*Are we gona use one or two rosters and will we use my current roster file?
*Who will edit the graphics(flags,mini-kits,background pics,team names ect...)

Guys please respond to this so we can all know what to do and what still needs to be done?

In regards to swapping rosters, both .eng files (Default.english file and Modified.english file) can both be placed into the default directory in seperate zip files. Extract and overwrite the appropriate .eng file, before starting the game.That way, the team names can return back to normal - when you want to play the European trophy again. As long as a backup copy exists in the zip file - it should all work out fine.
