Chris Paterson is fit again after a six-week layoff but he starts on the bench for the Heineken Cup clash with Castres. Hugo Southwell is preferred at full back by Andy Robinson for the 'dead rubber'.

Nick de Luca is back in the side after being on the bench last week, while prop Gavin Kerr, lock Ben Gissing and flanker Scott Newlands also come in. Mike Blair is rested ahead of The RBS 6 Nations, so Greig Laidlaw is at scrum-half.

Good to see that both Scottish clubs are being smart in player management, especially in the run up to a sensitive and crucial international competition such as the Six Nations.
 
Edinburgh look to be away and clear now, thanks to that Ford try, currently 25-14
