24 million waw in Fijian dollars my bad. But that's still huge.

It's a combine vodafone and Fiji airways sponsorship. Mizuno and cocoa cola have just come on board too. As for pro league we already have a semi pro one, with all teams having there own sponsors and stadiums. FRU is in the early stages of topping that up to full time. The latest to come on board is the Fiji sports council. I'll try and get the links

As for the academy, Fiji already have 3 High performance academy they're looking to use one of those as a specialist scrum and forward academy.

This is the EOYT money. Again the 20,000 per player is in Fijian currency. Works out as about 7000 pounds each which may not be as much as what tier 1 players get but for Fijian players especially the local ones that's alot of money.

Obviously I have just heard about it which is why i said it was breaking news but some of it might have already been out long ago the rest probably not yet since its still in the early stages of planning. I have a mate who's Dad is high up in the FRU so I can coconut wireless gossip from him. Also I would imagine FRU would not wanna let out everything about their plans since its a competitive market but I we'll see. The important bit to remember is that they're not starting from scratch with the pro league and scrum academy. As I've mentioned before we've already have a semi pro league and 3 academies. It's just a matter of specialising one of the academy for scrums and tight 5s. As for the pro league well the semi pro ones we have already is not too bad. I'll try and get the links to stats when I can find them but from experience as growing up to go and watch my team play at home stadium it was usually packed and the stadium capacity was I think 10 to 15 thousands so not too bad actually.

Just recently our national stadium was redone with more seats added. Also added was a big screen to enable video ref capability. For a tier 2 nation this is awesome. Before all this sponsorship FRU always struggle to get finance for the EOYT. They even had a nationwide campaign to ask people for donations to help out. The only playing kit provided was the jersey, shorts and socks. Players have to try and get their own boots and training gear. And they only had tap water as refreshments drinks. Now with Mizuno their boots and training gears are provided. With coco cola their refreshments drinks like lucozade is provided. And for the tour before sponsorship FRU would be lucky to get 200,000 together to fund the tour. Now the FRU on top of Mizuno providing kit and coco cola refreshments they have already set aside half a million for the tour and now Fiji sports council thanks to rugby being an Olympic sports have provided player wage of 20,000 each. This has enable them to persuade young Fijian props playing in the ITM cup and super rugby to come represent Fiji rather then the All Blacks. I'm expecting a better Fiji performance in the EOYT. The FRU have always been accused of not looking after the players and team performance have always been blamed on them. Now they have tried to do more then ever before in terms of looking after players. Especially getting the NZ based props and locks. Here's to a flying performance for the flying Fijians.

Money inaccuracies aside

The is great news for Fiji rugby

The do produce some fine athletes and it would be great to see them doing well in the 15's game

Will certainly scare a few teams if and when they get it together.

Hahaha. I didn't really get what that meant. Are we not allowed to post 2 or more times in a row or something?
