Most god awful International xv

1. Campese Ma'afu/Dean Greyling
2. Huw Bennett/Mike Pletch
3. Tony Buckley/Ed Kalman
4. Steve Borthwick (captain)
5. Will James
6. Chris Jones
7. Alvaro Galindo
8. Sione Lauaki/Andy Powell/Victor Costello
9. Mauro Bergamasco/Gareth Cooper (post 2005)/Shaun Perry
10. Tasesa Lavea/Sam Norton-Knight
11. Matt Banahan
12. Henry Paul
13. Nick de Luca
14. Iain Balshaw/Hal Luscombe
15. Viliame Iongi/Julian Huxley

To be fair to Sione Lauaki - he had some pretty good games for the All Blacks. Especially in the blow outs. It was only when he was put under any kind of pressure that he struggled. Up until 2008 he still looked promising - was always a beast of an athlete..Still played one of the worst games I've ever seen an All Black play in my lifetime, against Australia. Couldn't catch a ball if his life depended on it - every touch was a knock on - like 7 or 8 of them.

Balshite was okay on the wing, its fullback where he fell to pieces.

I would have to say that in the non vital games he has been a revelation at 15 for Biarritz.

Not only has he been (more often than not) sound at catching and tackling but he has also been attack minded and very good at organising a defence where few have any rugby brains!

In vital games, he seems to get nervous but a bad Biarritz would have been much worse without him at 15 over the last four years!

Yeah,
While it's fun to go on about how terrible he is, he's not half as bad as everyone (me included) makes out. Certainly not the worst 14 to have played the game.

Think of some alternative god awful international wingers then.

I remember Balshaw made to silly in defence (with Mike Brown) in 2007 by Jean de Villiers. He messed up an easy try against Italy in 2005 hence why he made this team. Gifted Wales a try in 2008. He constantly flopped at international level to be fair, living off early potential.

Your harsh, very harsh.

Bennett's been good for Wales in more recent times. Balshaw is not the worst winger either to play.

From Wales ...

Paul Young, Chris Anthony, Spencer John, Derwyn Jones, James Griffiths, Will James, Scott Morgan, Andy Lloyd, Nathan Budgett, Jason Forster, Jamie Ringer, Nathan Thomas, Warren Fury, Lee Jarvis, Matthew Jones, Jason Jones-Hughes, Gavin Evans, Matthew Watkins, Nathan Brew, Tal Selley, Matthew Robinson, Hal Luscombe, Nick Walne, Matt Cardey, Craig Morgan, Adrian Durston

I was trying to think of players who had actually had bad games for their country, rather than bad players who came on for about 2 minutes for a cap like some of the above.

Huw Bennett had some good form for the World Cup, but there was a period in his career around the Fiji 2010 match where he was dreadful.

How many of those players you named (although all admittedly some of the worst Wales have capped) have had as poor games as Bennett has done (like Fiji 2010) in a few occasions in a Wales shirt?

Let's not get pedantic now. That Fiji 2010 game a lot of players played badly. Bennett is not the worst and his recent performances have been forgotten. No doubt he has been bad for Wales but he's certainly not the worst. I forgot to add Andrew Lewis to that list who is far more deserving than Bennett to be on that list.
