Why are you being ignorant?
Sometimes in life we have to do what we don't want to, its called life.

I'm not so sure. I live here and I love the Premiership. Granted New Zealand teams, and the A-league are terrible to watch in comparison. But following Football in NZ isn't so hard if you're into it.Originally posted by umosay@Nov 11 2005, 12:14 AM
Yeah well i can tell you if you lived in NZ you wouldn't be so keen. We have no teams... let alone good ones.
It's soccer for Aussies mate, we've already got 3 other codes we call football... so the only time soccer has "ball" inserted into its name is when it is derogatorily called poofball or wogball (cause mainly Greeks and the like play it).Originally posted by Jamie Lyon@Nov 10 2005, 09:23 PM
Defensive "soccer" isn't easy to play at all, it is absolutely exhausting.
I just checked, there's been 10 nil all draws this season in the EPL, and something like 15 goal scoring draws (usually 1-1, but there were a couple 2-2's in there)... Now in Rugby League I would find even 1 nil all draw too many... But that’s the whole point, most of those games that end up as draws one team has actually been better (out of the 5 or so I've witnessed with English mates), but they still end in deadlock cause it's so f***en hard to score! That to me is very dissatisfying...Originally posted by Jamie Lyon@Nov 11 2005, 12:03 AM
Premiership games are rarely 0-0 to be honest mate. Until the playoffs were introduced to Super League, they were an alien concept to me.
Pfft....It'll never catch on.Originally posted by ..::ERIC::..@Nov 15 2005, 05:16 PM
Make the goal the width of the feild. Make it that they have to pick the ball up and run over the line and place it down to score. Make it that you can physically tackle the player.
Can't agree with that mate, I'm either a defender or a goalkeeper, I find the idea of loads of goals scoring horrifying!Originally posted by umosay@Nov 15 2005, 05:12 PM
Yeah, cut 2 players and make the game 80mins and we would see more open play and more goals... i'd rather watch a game with lots of goals that see good defending.
heh, I would probably love the sport if i was from England.Originally posted by Jamie Lyon+Nov 16 2005, 12:17 AM--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jamie Lyon @ Nov 16 2005, 12:17 AM)</div><!--QuoteBegin-umosayCan't agree with that mate, I'm either a defender or a goalkeeper, I find the idea of loads of goals scoring horrifying!@Nov 15 2005, 05:12 PM

It's a very difficult game to play, but boring as batshit to watch...Originally posted by ALLBLACKS@Nov 15 2005, 11:20 PM
I agree with Jamie Lyon, Football or Soccer is a very difficult sport to play, Its also harder to cross people up when you have the ball.
