No one thinks he's amazing. Everyone is quite aware of his not overly special playing ability. The reason he is talked up is simply his caveman like exterior and the hit he put on Chris Masoe. He is a cult figure for reasons other than his performances on the field.

Good to see all you Kiwi boys sticking together but you should take a more constructive view and look at the problem with NZ rugby and not be so defensive. Its not all about running around at 100 miles an hour with the ball never reaching touch. Like i have previously said Williams is a good 2nd row and a fine line out foward but dont kid yourselves that he is world class. The really top locks are a nightmare to play against, can you honestly say Williams is anything but an athletic lock who is out of his depth in physical aggression at the very highest level.

Now I've heard everything. Mate, you're English and you're trying to tell a NZer what's wrong with their rugby.... You should consult a psychiatrist or something. Making it to the final of a world cup doesn't make England better than the All Blacks. We'll just have to see how well precious England does when they tour NZ

i thought the most overated player was wilkinson because he got so much fame of of the one droip goal and then he played next to nothing rugby in between world cups but at the 07 world cup he was by far the player of the tournament.

now i rekon its a tie for most overrated player with bryan habana and jonah lomu being overrated to extreme levels also jake white is the lukiest man in the world

Lomu overrated? i dont think so imo. The guy's strength and power is matched by no one, even to this day i believe! He played almost his whole career with his chronic kidney illness and still kicked ass!

its funny how people bag wilkinson. hes one of the best players you will come across. defencively active, as vision and has one of the most resoursful kicks in the game. people dont like that. people want to see someone carve up 15 men, making a 80m run. but lets face it. your in your own half/22/goal line, i would have wilko over ANY OTHER PLAYER in the world. anyone who can kick with the distance and accuracy that he can should be at the status that he is for it.

I think it's 'cos the hype still is alive even after 2003 where he has since done absolutely nothing on a major scale. He's good, but the way people rave on about him is quite excessive, and he's probably one of the more well known players to people who don't follow Rugby which seems odd 'cos he's hardly talked about as great player as of now within the Rugby circle.

lomu sucks hes a sell out to big name companys i was disgusted when lomu made his so called comeback in 2006 just because hes lomu doesnt mean he should be virtually automatically signed up for harbour i thought harbours worst game in 2006 was when lomu played he is overated and what kind of tosser tries to play with only 1 kidney and the fact that doctors advised him not lomu is just as thick as sivivatu
