Pool 2 (Connacht, Toulouse, Wasps, Zebre)

With all the research about concussion coming out in recent years they're trying to secure the games future. Parents are understandably seriously having to think about letting their children play rugby now, knowing the possible long term ramifications.

If you change the game beyond recognition, you haven't saved the game.

They'll drive just as many people away.

So why isn't there penalties for raising arms or hand offs or swing arms into clearances?

How about they play tag rugby instead or football?

Rugby is gonna loose most of its supporters if you cant tackle with out risk of yellow or if the opposite player dives into a tackle looking for a yellow every tackle.

Blatant neck roll infront of the ref...

I think you're overacting a bit mate, it was a high tackle, smacked him in the ****ing head. It's simple don't smack people in the ****ing head.

Ahh so a player going down and a tackle rising from the original impact point of the shoulders is equal to a tackle to the head.

A team having to play down with 14 men for what should have been just a penalty is fair?

Most concussions actually happen to the tacklie not the person being tackled but the referees are targeting hard tackles in every bloody game.

manu yellow for a perfectly fine clearout yesterday.

Connacht botching this. Should have been clear by now but their lack of depth means they will struggle second half.

On high tackles they should introduce then PRORugby high tackle line on shirts and make a minimum height at which the rule applies to prevent penalising guys who are tackling a dipping or diving player (e.g. if tackle is made underneath four feet high (lower torso height of ref) then it cannot be a yellow card.

If

But, yes... it's getting on that way. A guy falls over and his head makes fairly light contact with a tacklers arm. That probably wouldn't have been anything six months ago, let alone for the previous 100+ years.

Pascal Pape incident yesterday.

I enjoy the game less and less with every coming season, it seems.

From now on just dive at the feet of a player, either they don't hit you because they think they might get a yellow and you get through or they hit you and you get them sent off for 10mins

Give it a year or two and I might just stick with RL and NFL.
I already enjoy MMA far more than rugby union, these days.
I'm not sure I'd watch half as many games if it weren't for this place, every game seems to have at least one incident that just leaves you wondering wtf has gone wrong with the sport.
It's a shame because I love rugby union, but the top level is just moving away from real rugby so much.

Launchberry on fire, another turn over nothing about the attempted neck roll / grab.

Ah you boys are just upset that the English clubs are getting dicked this weeked. When England are smashing all around them Rugby is the best game in the world.

What we want is a fair consistent ref, we get pinged for things. but the connaught are getting away with knock ons, obstructions, in from the side at rucks and neck rolls.

If you looked at my posts, you'll see I'm consistent about it.

It's becoming a struggle for me to watch the game.

Now we are going to look back for the last 15 mins for a reason not to give the try...

I watch rugby because I love the sport but the rule changes and gamesmanship are making it terrible.
Scrums are an absolute joke as are choke tackles, competition for the high ball rules are mental
Everything's so inconsistent

Dragged down by the shoulder, definite yellow, maybe a red

under new regs, lifetime ban, 5 year prison sentence and castration with a sledgehammer.

Thought it should have been a yellow if the ref was consistent, which is all we ask.
