South Africa director of rugby Rassie Erasmus to face misconduct hearing

I like him more after this.

Funny

Love this subtle dig

Endorsing someone who literally spread false information to attempt to get his agenda through world rugby...

Glad this is over because it was tedious but I don't really know what to make of it. What Rassie did was OTT but I don't think he broke some of the rules he's been done for, and WR haven't made anything clearer re the level of criticism a ref can be exposed to.

Rassie likes the xenophobic egomaniac?

I always love how these vicious, hostile hackers are always kind enough to leave the account login and security details untouched so that the account owner can immediately delete the error (I mean, hack) and post an apology.

He has lost control of the account completely, SA Rugby put out a statement, they are waiting for Twitter to intervene.

Why would he intentionally retweet a pornographic tweet?

You have to ask the question,
What does he gain from this?

Please someone tell me in what world do you think the man would have considered it to be a beneficial move on his part?

If someone manages to come up with a plausible reason, I will happily consider it.

Don't think anyone's claiming he did it deliberately - very easy to accidentally hit the retweet button when scrolling on your phone though

He then didn't realise until people pointed it out and instead of being like "whoops, sorry - deleted!" he went down the "I've been hacked!" route instead

Happens a surprising amount with people in the public eye

Maybe he was looking at tractors?

I don't think anyone is suggesting that he did it intentionally.

This sort of thing is very common on Facebook - twice this week I've been tagged in posts that clearly weren't made by my friends, so doubt because they followed a link or clicked a button that they shouldn't have. Twitter's character limit means that this isn't as common on Twitter, but mechanics exist that allow a third party to post on your behalf. Being as pure as the driven snow, I've only ever seen it in relation to getting extra competition entries in exchange for posting a link to the competition, but could easily see how the previous wording could be changed to "login to see [someone popular] doing [whatever the cool kids are doing these days] to [someone else popular" in order to dupe people into sharing a porn video to their page.
