South Africa vs British and Irish Lions - Test 2

In terms of general refereeing it's been pretty even,

In terms of refereeing acts of foul play/violence I don't think I've ever seen such lenience towards one side before - genuinely mad
Yeah, it's refereeing to avoid big calls that could be career ending

Absolutely this, in terms of calls around the maul and ruck it's been fairly consistent.

So angry that it wasn't that the foul play / violence went unnoticed - it went noticed and ignored. Fuming.

Edit: Guscott saying twice in 30 seconds it was a boring game. Sure it wasn't running rugby but I enjoyed that half immensely. Don't think you have to be a 'purist' to enjoy that brutality.

Guscott’s still stuck in 1997. The game has moved on and defence is no longer optional.
