Doesn’t look good from the pics. Citing office has 24 hours to charge him. Think he’ll be dropped anyway for Williams.
Maro is more of a concern with him kneeling on DDA’s neck.
for me if Hogg did bite I would’ve thought Le roux would react harder
If Fak gets cited then so should Mako imo

If Itoje is cited DDA needs cited as well for the punch.
Even then the Itoje one would be harsh imo

Can't remember the Mako one at all. From the one replay I saw the Faf one looked shoulder to head, though given nobody else seems outraged I suspect it wasn't that bad

Yep, not good either.
I am 99,9999% sure he did not bite WLR. People react in very specific ways when bitten. That did not happen.
Itoje's look bad but things like that happen every single game. Play on.
Maro's did look bad but it's hard to know how much of his weight he was putting on De Allende.

I didn’t like Itoje’s constant ****le. Every time he was in the back of the screen he was having a sly dig or sarcastically applauding an opponent (right in their face), hoping to draw a reaction. I also didn’t like his appealing and wide-eyed innocent protestations to the ref every time either. He definitely wasn’t the only one doing this, but definitely a chief culprit.
I also didn’t like the back’s arm waving appeals. I had hoped Biggar had ironed it out of his game, but it seems not.
I agree that “everyone does it” and “it’s part of the modern game”, but I don’t like it and I felt the Lions were doing it much more.

TBF when you put your knee on someone's neck the weight shouldn't even matter.

There again you can't expect any logic out of a citing commission.
With Murray so slow and kicking poorly and Biggar doing nothing offensively we invited the Boks to do what they are best at. Although the back 3 were very poor it seemed pointless to me to put them under constant pressure. Gatland isn’t one to roll the dice but unless there is an attacking plan the Boks will roll us over in game 3. Henderson for AWJ, Beirne for Conan, maybe Watson for Currie. Price to start. Williams and Adams maybe. Biggest problem for me is 10. Think Biggar and Farrell have proven they cannot create but can’t see Gatland risking Russell. Smith an option but asking an awful lot and could destroy his confidence.

Problem with Biggar is he poses no running threat. So the Boks just pretty much ignored him and blitz'd the next receivers and we kept losing ground with the backs. Logic would say play some grubbers in behind to make them think twice. But the only plan was up and unders.

That's the same criticism about him made for Wales. IIRC Gatland dropped him and used Anscombe to start for the Grand Slam in 2019. Biggar has always struck me as a more natural 12

Generally aspects of leadership include stepping up and preventing a team from losing their heads and taking control tactically. All that was absent. If fans of AWJ are going to use "unseen work" and "leadership" as intangible reasons to select him, you must also then accept the complete apparent absence of it. It can't be something that is wheeled out when it is very obvious it is happening but then dismissed as "ah how can you see it?" when evidence of it is not there. That lions side looked devoid of leadership and AWJs personal performances are not up to scratch. Either the unseen work becomes more seen or essentially he is in the side for his name and not on any actual merit that can be observed.

I know slo mo can be misleading but the video on this guy’s Twitter of Itoje doesn’t look clever at all. Doesn’t show what led up to it but I’d expect Itoje to be up before the beak.

Doesn’t look good. If he gets banned for that then Hendo to come straight in as replacement.

Reckon we’d be more likely to see Beirne come in either straight to lock or at 6 with Lawes at lock. Much more of a like for like Itoje replacement than Hendo.
Although I would go with Hendo.

It´s more of an art than a science but you can spot a few things. First and foremost, a sign of leadership is people listening to that person. They can sense things, like what the team needs at a particular moment and how to transmit that message so that it resonates with the team. Sometimes you need the team to cool down and a few words at the right time can make the difference. Sometimes you need grit and the right phrase can have a huge impact.
Skill helps as performance can be inspirational, but it is not necessary.
And leadership is not the same as being right. It is rare as leadership is largely based on credibility so being right does help, a lot, but you could potentially be a natural leader who makes a few wrong calls, at least in the short run.
It's hard to describe but you can spot it a mile away.
Farrell and Sexton come to mind (to name two non-arg ones). To be completely honest, AWJ does not.

I dont understand why people think itoje will get banned. First, there is nothing in it. Second, hes less touchable than farrell. Is there a precedent i dont know about?
Has Itoje ever done anything warranting a citing in his international career? I can't think of any and I can think of multiple for Farrell.
