100 ATP titles for the Maestro.
First time I've sat down and watched Konta this year.
She's improved out of all recognition! She was decent before, but so much more subtle, disguised, unpredictable...
And a very winnable semi final. She’s playing well again and great chance to get to the final, with the most likely against Halep.
Also another Rafa v Roger semi. Don’t expect too much from Roger v Rafa over 5 sets and on clay. Roger’s won the last 5 v Rafa, but they were all on hard courts, so expecting the winning run to come to an end and another Rafa v Novak final. Novak still the only one with a chance to beat Rafa on Phillippe Chatrier court.
And Halep the defending champion is out. Beaten by a 17 year old American.
If Konta can win her semi tomorrow then she could face Barty of Australia who has been in great form this year.
Women’s draw is so much more open and unpredictable compared to the men’s.
Pity about Jo. Choked away winning those two sets. Best chance to get to a Grand Slam final she’s had so far.
Rafa clinical v Roger - not surprising. Now going for his 12th RG title- absolutely insane.
12 RG titles for Rafa. Just a phenomenal achievement.
Murray to return to singles in Cincinnati.
And out goes Djokovic after retiring v Wawrinka. Novak has now completed the career slam of retiring at each grand slam.
Chance for Fedal US Open final.
Konta also through to QF.
Konta looks like she’s heading out of the US open.
Laver Cup on at the moment. Europe 1-1 against rest of the world.
7-5 Europe. Roger and Rafa winning the singles runners today, but Europe losing one singles and the doubles.
Tomorrow and final day each match is worth 3 points each.
Sweet revenge for Roger over Novak last night to end Djokovic’s participation at the ATP World tour finals and hand Rafa the end of year number 1 ranking. Possible Nadal v Federer semi tomorrow if Medvedev can do Rafa a favour and beat Zverev tonight.
New Star is born in the ladies game in 21 year old Sofia Kenin.
Can the Thiemintor stop Novak’s march to 8 tomorrow?
