The Ukraine War thread

Done like a kipper in Alaska like many of us knew he would be.

Meanwhile Putin is rubbing shoulders with his authoritarian buds in Beijing. Even Modi is trolling him by sharing his car with Putin.
Modi is a strange one. Talking to a friend who knows more than me on India/Pakistan. He's basically trying to butter his bread on both sides.

That's what successful statesmen do. Modis interests are getting cheap oil from the Russians and not having a land war with China. All America has done is threaten tariffs. India was always pro Soviet back in the day and that hasn't really changed. If China, India and Russia get their collective **** together (big if) then they absolutely will be challenging an increasingly isolated America who have looked weak geopolitically since Obama's second term. America could rely on Allies in the past, I'm not sure they can rely on them now.

I'm no fan of Modi but it's a smart move after TACO imposed secondary tariffs on India for buying Russian oil. With Bannon/Miller writing the script for TACO, America is not a trustworthy partner anymore - even with it's long standing allies. Modi is hedging his bets and not any burning bridges. It was also smart of him not to take the bait and get into a war of words with TACO.

Xi is also trolling him by showcasing all these new alliances even if most of the players involved are total shitbags.

Almost like he's completely full of ****. Even as Russia sticks a finger up to him, Donnie takes it. They definitely have something on him.
I'm sure Putin offered Trump his copy of the Epstein Files, after Donnie "lost" his.
Putin's likely got a bigger file as well, complete with video evidence.

I think the ball is still in Poland/NATO's court. Shooting these objects down was a given. Russia is testing the water to see what the response will be.
This is probably Russia's response to Poland increasing security on its borders with Belarus and Kaliningrad.
They've escalated, so it's Poland's turn. The best response would be putting even more pressure on Hungary to be less obstructive on... most things; and to increase support for Ukraine - appropriate would be buying /ordering a ****-tonne of anti-drone measures from Ukraine as a form of aid.

Have to wonder if it's a way of testing what NATO does with the drone threat. What weapon systems were used, are they expensive and hard to manufacture systems? If so how drones could be used to deplete the Air defenses? Are they targeting decoys?

There would have been a lot for Russia to look at after this. As for NATO they got a bit of target practice but not much else

Christ, I've even seen someone who's opinions I respect theorise that it might even be an attempt to draw NATO into the war officially - better to lose to an equal, and historic foe; than lose to a lesser, barely-state who were supposed to roll over and welcome their betters.

It could also be the start of more brinkmanship and a test to see if Trump really is invested in NATO and has Europe's back if they start calling for articles to be triggered.

Honestly knew all that from this forum only 😄 sitting in Warsaw, working, no panic or something, everything is calm here. Read in polish sources now that they can't determine whether these are Russian drones precisely
