Transfers rumours

Cornell du Preez is off. I think they're looking at Vailanu to fill that spot.

Graham Kitchener and Bresler are out of contract so there is talk of one or both leaving, but Joel Batley has been a really good signing.

BTW, Judge is a tighthead.

So what we're hearing is that we've got a TH and LH to come. In theory it's looking promising for next year but that's always the way haha

Rumors
Bunch of rich Americans looking to buy Tigers
Quins and Irish looking at Matera
Racing looking at Rob Simmons
Irish looking at Ben White (Tigers)
Peter Scholtz to Wasps

Quins and Irish looking at Matera
They'd have a job (unless it's a very short term deal, before next seasons Super Rugby)
Bunch of rich Americans looking to buy Tigers
There was an interview with Steve Diamond in the Daily Fail last week and he mentioned American money men contacting him looking to get involved in Union in England - I'd presumed they were looking to form a breakaway league/comp to appeal to American audiences or something rather than purchase a club (which is a money sink rather than a money spinner, realistically)

Ben White could probably do with a move given JvP's emergence.

As Olyy has said Matera is off to Crusaders, so unless the move to the Premiership is temporary, that rumour is out of date.

From a Quins POV, we could certainly do with a back rower of his quality given Evans' injury lay off and our lack of depth.

Kieran Brookes is rumoured to be going to France so I'd assume Scholtz is being linked as the replacement?

Danny Wilson, John Dobson (Stormers), Tabai Matson in a 4 man short list for Quins head coach
Clark Laidlaw Linked to joins quins now to help end of season
Bristol eyeing up Solomona

Do quins need a new head coach?
They're on a tear with the setup they've got atm - or are they leaving?

Would be sad to see him leave, but wouldn't be surprised
I think he probably wants to get away from the northwest tbh

What happend to Solomona? I thought he was going to be a great addition and straight into England

On a sabbatical for mental health - he's been very open about it in interviews and does a lot of good work with the sale community outreach for mental health
Struggled with the pressures of being a pro and turned to drink and drugs to cope

Quins signing at 12.

May well be Allan - haven't heard any other rumours in a couple weeks so don't know who else.

It seems like there is a Coffee reference and a video of Scott Steele but idk what that means

You really don't need Allan unless Smith gets picked for England.... but also Allan is an italian international so will also disappear...

Where will he play? 12? Northmore/Estherhuizen 15? David..

Seems like you could use the money elsewhere.

Wasps big announcement today but Ricoh Arena based. Sounds like new sponsor.

Whatever is happening with Rugby, Wasps/Ricoh Arena are making huge strides.
Major Hummel kit deal announced for Mens, Womens and Academy Kit/Staff Kit for Rugby and Netball Plus Coventry.
Plus Transformation ahead of CommonWealth Games and Rugby League World Cup. https://www.ricoharena.com/news/proposals-to-transform-ricoh-arena-gather-pace/

We may not make signings but making great strides elsewhere :D

Naw we definitely need him.

Lang is off so that leaves us with Smith, Herron and Will Edwards who can play 10. Edwards has literally played once off the bench and Herron is way way out of his depth.

Is Smith goes down we're screwed. I imagine Allan is done with intl rugby if he's coming to us - be a good backup for Smith and will mean that he doesn't need to play every minute of every match for ever

Fair enough. If Allan is done with International then great signing because Smith is your shining star but without him, it's tough.

Looking at your squad, I also thought that Backrow and Hooker looked thin in true quality starter once Baldwin leaves and with Evans out long term and Dombrandt potentially England bound.

Also Lock.... looks very thin on the ground with only 4.

Allan played u20s for Scotland (I think he was eligible for Italy, France, Scotland and England at one point) - maybe they played in the same side?

Edit: Yup, they were in the same u20s squad - so maybe a subtle reference to them being reunited

General consensus on the Quins forum was that a backup 10 was first priority, then an experienced hooker (we have two very strong academy boys coming through with Joe gray as well, but a steady hand for a couple years would be good, especially with Elia struggling ATM) lock and br after that. Both of those latter ones have some good academy boys again, so a steadying hand who can do lock and 6 would be good whilst they all get up to speed

Yeah your academy is feeding the team really well at the moment.
Think we are seeing Quins, Wasps, Saints etc really fill their squads with Academy players.

The lack of relegation really will help teams uncover gems. Recently (last two seasons) we have had Barbeary, Oghre, Cardall, Vukasinovic, T Willis, Porter, Wolstenholme, Umaga, Simonds, Spink, Sirker, Atkinson come up through Academy into first team and expecting the likes of Curran, Eckersley, Cordice, Anderson, Williams, Fislau, Hartley, Bell, Ma'asi-White etc to come through soon.
