Transfers Rumours

The thing is for Soroka is there are not many teams in the prem that are really in a massive need for 6's maybe as a back up but I couldn't think of a team outside of Falcons where I would go yes he would be a starter.
I think versatility is his value. He can play second row as well, and tbh probably anywhere across the back five.

We are now linked with Mornay Smith. Absolute whiff of his agent flying a kite though. Will be highly surprised if it happens.

Burns leaving Japan
I thought he'd be staying over there but now....Warriors?

Billy Burns looks to have outstayed his welcome in Ireland now, maybe Wuss will make a play to bring both in and use the novelty of playing alongside each other to get the salaries lower

The Redbull rumour continues with more importantly no denial from the club, who are normally quick to squash any rumours. I think there is merit in this and hopefully it comes off. It is the much needed investment the club / fans are looking for. Then who are we bringing in this late in the recruitment season ???

Hmm I doubt there will be a mad rush for players this season, suspect Red bull would play for whoever they want in charge of the club first.
You might get the odd overseas player, or player who was otherwise considering retirement; but the transfer market will essentially be over; just waiting for announcements.
Especially as even Wuss have had a head-start on signings.

I get that it's a lot easier to sign a big big name sabbatical player rather than a similar level free agent, but it feels an odd tactic by the IRFU considering how insular the regions are - I'd have thought they'd want an experienced guy in for a longer term to help nurture the younger talent rather than someone who's come and gone in as long as it's taken him to remember everyone's name

Works for us, though. These guys get to earn some over the top coin no one can really afford to pay these players without having to sign up for an extended period. Gus remains available for the Wallabies throughout.

Pillage European coffers AND keep test availability. Win, win.

I get it for Leinster who are in win now mode, but for Ulster a decent journeyman who is around for a few years would be a better investment at prop

Find some more cracking top class professionals like Arnold and Gordon etc

Tie down Ben Stevenson and some of our better players, tie down Joe Davis, Freddie Lockwood and the other kids ...and then find a quality 10.

French press saying Farrell back to Saracens as player/coach and Dan Lancaster to Glasgow

Apparently Racing not offering Lancaster a contract, which is kinda surprising as he's been playing very well since his dad left the club - apparently he qualifies for Scotland on ancestry (a granny), so is aiming for a Scotland cap

His dad did appear for twice Scotland youth teams.

Sounds like Owen is suffering from concussion issues which is worrying to hear,
