Worst kept secret in rugby is Meehan is sniffing around Geraghty like a dog on heat.
Was Geraghty not rumoured to be off to France? Bayonne as far as I recall. A change will do him good wherever he goes.
Eifion Lewis-Roberts AND Karena Wihongi to Toulon
Leaving us with Tony Buckley and a 20yr old Henry Thomas on the tighthead
Blaaaargh
Why does PSA insist on taking everyone from Sale?!
On top of that he had fine game in loose and was superb in scrumBuckley scored this evening if it cheers you up!
.........against weak teams. I fully expect him to do okay against the Worcesters, Leeds', Newcastles, Exeters, Baths and Gloucesters of this world next season. It'll be a different story when he faces team like Leicester and Northampton.Probably not a huge achievement but it shows he can do it
Apparently Bath were one of the teams Sale beat for Buckley's signature.Don't know about that,
Matt Mullan (Worcester) and John Golding (Falcons) are both very capable props, I expect him to have a problem against them
Baths front row, on it's day, could take down anyone (despite all of them being 50yrs+ old)
Apparently Bath were one of the teams Sale beat for Buckley's signature.
I've heard Mullan is talented but never seen him back it up whenever I've seen Worcester play (admittedly not too often). Perhaps this is being overly simplistic but if he was a decent player, he would have left Worcester last summer and picked up a deal with a Premiership team. I know nothing about Golding but have heard the Newcastle scrum has been routinely destroyed this season (although that may have more to do with Tim Ryan).
The NZRU's largest cost is player salaries. While several highly paid players are set to leave our shores later this year which will save them some money – the latest rumours include Chiefs first five Stephen Donald is off to Munster and Mils Muliaina to Japan after the world cup – three of the NZRU's highest paid players, Richie McCaw, Dan Carter (above) and Ma'a Nonu, are set to stay. Carter was tipped to join Perpignan but the French club exhausted much of its budget recently when they signed Welshman James Hook.
