Trf team of tournament

I won’t be able to catch the first game, but I don’t expect to be picking the best 5 from either Russia or Japan.

Will catch 5 of the 6 weekend games though.

The Russian 11 was OK.
Lemeke was better. Pretty good positioning, came in to secure a ruck once, made some good runs, looking for work, but not deterimentally taking himself away from the wing, preventing opportunites out wide. looked pretty good, like he is almost there, but there were some times he could have been a bit better. A couple of occasions he should have been a bit further behind the ball, or come in closer when his team mate wasn't in a postiiion to pass it to him.

Okay, so the hookers were a bit quiet so far in this tournament, with only Tolu Latu from Australia and Uncle Best from Ireland topping my list as contenders so far. It's not that the other hookers didn't play poorly or anything, it's just there wasn't really much mentioning of any of them in the games, or that they did something great in the game.

But I have to award it to Tolu Latu. He was outstanding for Australia, and his 2 tries was just the cherry on top to help them beat a very resilient Fiji team.

Standout 5s in the opening games for me have been;

Barrett
Itoje

Can’t say Ryan of Ireland as I think Henderson outshone him in the game, but that doesn’t mean he had a bad game.

For the 9s, I thought Murray was easily the best, while Dupont was also good. Other than that, there was very little worth writing home about. Other than the two I mentioned the only other player I thought was worth mentioning was Genia, who did a really good job off the bench for Australia and was a big improvement on White, who along with Faf de Klerk was pretty poor.

Having just caught up on Wales game No15 no standouts Barrett just shades it but nowt great or poor. Namibian tried hard my bad forgot his name.
All games seen live or catch up so far.

So far on the 6 front, I’d have to say that the only real top performance would be Ardie Savea. Apart from that O’Mahony was decent, so was Navidi when he moved over from 8 and I liked the Russian 6 a lot.

I have Henderson so far. Jake Ball for Wales got Motm (which I'm not sure about) but i don't think he had as much impact in the game as Henderson.

11s there is no obvious best yet but there are some who impressed more than others.
Got to admit it ain’t easy judging wingers when you can’t see the whole field all the time.

Maitland Adams May Stockdale radradra all look like I need to keep an eye on, in that order. George bridge was better than them so far, though far from perfect his workrate was insane. Marika koroibete has the lead though.

I kept a more than cursory eye on the 14s too, in case they end up playing 11 in other games. Penaud looked best, followed by Kolbe, both of which looked better than any of the left wingers. But keen to hear what the right wing selector thinks.

Yeah the wings have been strong so far... particularly the two 14’s you mentioned.
