USA news & politics

That bad? No but coke is a massive problem. Really affects people's behaviour within society and drains lots of money out of the economy into criminal gangs. It's the one thing I worry about my kids getting into especially my eldest
People stopped doing coke here 25 years ago and moved on to harder stuff.

Some people live in alternative reality.

S&P hits a record high today.

The US economy is 1.5x larger than the EU. In terms of purchasing power, the US is almost double richer than the US, per the IMF.
Consumer power has nothing to do with economy.

There are nearly twice the number of consumers on Europe than the US.

When I look I can't believe the amount of garbage products bought by Americans for simple tasks. Gadget for everything useful or not.

So you choose the S&P index because it's at a record, yet the DJIA has dropped about 500 points since Sunday. Which is it? Or do you just choose the one doing better? You can't even do that simply, you have to cheat by having multiple choices.

I'd be less worried about Coke, and more worried about the flooding of the UK market of Fentanyl.

Its been going around the north east recently, and it's only a matter of time...

Nitazenes are the future for all the obvious reasons.

I've gone years and years without requiring to use Naloxone, but have administered in 2024 and twice already this year.

Yep, I have no sympathy for addicts or even alcoholics.

The only case I may have sympathy for is over medication in hospitals leading to addiction.

Thats not harsh, that's a disgraceful take!!!!

Addiction is a disease that ravages through a society, and it's only getting worse.

Had to Google half of that

They said the same about crack. It took off to a degree but never the extent of the US.

I think people who use coke and cannabis don't see themselves in the same way. Especially compared with other drugs.

**** sorry hahaha the industry is full of BS terminology.

Essentially, synthetic opiods are so cheap to produce, and so incredibly strong it will beat out traditional drug use at some point.

Naloxone treats overdose, in my line of work I come across users regularly, but until last year never came across anyone who had overdosed, now it seems to be a regular occupancy.

CAVDAS reported to us recently that they have given out more Naloxone (pebble and injection forms) in the last 12 months than the 12 years before.

Part of that will be awareness and training obviously, but ODs are increasing at a rate of knots, and its mostly down to synthetics.
