USA news & politics

Probably not, there's only one American champ ATM (and she'll lose the belt to Amanda Nunes either before or at this event), and all the biggest MAGA chuds (like Colby Covington) they'd struggle to find someone bad enough on the roster to get them a win
You think they'll allow a lesbian to fight and win at the white house?

Who's the UK champs?
Tom Aspinall is heavyweight champion

If you were asking in good faith then currently there's:
Men:
1 x England
2 x Russia (though one moved to Sweden at a young age and now represents UAE after moving there a couple of years ago)
2 x Australia
2 x Georgia (though one represents Spain after moving there as a young teen)
1 x Brazil

Women:
1 x USA
1 x Kyrgyzstan (though it was the USSR when she was born and she said she considers herself Russian not Kyrgyz)
1 x China

Depends if they want an American title fight headlining the card

It'll probably end up being McGregor vs Chandler, both are big Trump fans and McGregor is probably still the biggest name amongst casual MMA fans (certainly ones in the US)
Would've been a great fight...5 years ago
Both washed now though

So it seems Jimmy Kimmel is returning to TV. Quite a turnaround, I wonder if the media decided that the backlash they were facing was worse than what they'd get from the Trump administration? This could ping pong a bit as they weigh up which side will get most outraged and be the riskiest to **** off.

Also it seems Trump has openly called for the Department of Justice to prosecute his political opponents stating they are guilty, despite no evidence and the AG who was prosecuting Leticia James finding no evidence of criminality before being forced out in a Nixon-esque moment where Trump has decided to replace them with someone who will state she committed a crime, regardless of evidence.

This is borderline dictatorial attitude. In anticipation of the usual both sides response, this is not usual. No president has interfered with the judiciary and justice departments so frequently and brazenly since Nixon.

And to top it off.

Borderline? That line was crossed a bit ago, though I guess you could call it still borderline from the other side as there's still plenty of room to get worse.

As for Kimmel - looks like Disney lost about 3% in a couple of days, and most of their Marvel actors. Presumably they all return with Kimmel.

Medications and Autism... With Dr Oz and RFK Jr in the administration, they'll just keep playing around with "X causes autism" until they find something with less pushback.
They're utterly convinced that because they hadn't heard of it when they were kids, that therefore it didn't exist, and MUST be caused by modern medicine of some description (whilst never even considering other modern things like fertilisers, polluted waterways etc etc - for which, as far as I'm aware, there's an equal absence of causative evidence).
There's no concept for them that autistic kids were labelled as "troublemaker", "pain in the arse" or "not worth keeping, we'll leave them in the forest for nature to deal with" or just "likes being on his own, so he sits in his hut, looking after the sheep"

Yeah its just a case of kids with milder symptoms were just not looked after or understood. Most of them ended up in tech industry or the arts in some way.

The supreme court has overturned yet another century old ruling, giving Trump the power to fire whoever he wants. Amazing how little time it took this supreme court to pivot from saying the president should have limited powers to overturning multiple well established legal precedents.

Also how they obstructed and slow walked Trumps prosecution yet jump to overturn decades of precedent on a heartbeat when he wants it.

It's the most brazen attempt to fill all levels of government with loyalists in American history.

Who is his next in the firing line before the supreme court? The fired member of the federal reserve board. Watch as they overturn precedent there too and say he can fire the entire board, stripping it of all independence and making it little more than another government organisation.

Selfish RBG...

Selfish RBG...
The amount of love/hate that woman created was epic.

She is basically a deity on the left. Her ego got so big, she basically told Obama to kick rocks.

And then was replaced by an even more talented judge with a completely opposite judicial philosophy.

If that’s not a lesson in Pride Cometh Before the Fall, I don’t know what better illustrates it.
