Well he was fit then (up north) and that was his first match in nearly 3 months. And he wasn't bad today just not great.

Eye'roll.

Yeah, about all this talk about kicking before the game...didn't really change anything did it?

Talk the talk but can't seem to walk the running game these days..international rugby down to a tee unless its the Lions.

Are these two teams equally as good and so cancelled each other out... Or are they simply just as **** as each other?

**** enough to hold the number 2&3 spot in the world rankings. The fact is defences are much tighter than up north.

Well that one was bit too close for comfort. Dan Carter might not have been at his best, but he's still absolute class. Also, hats off to Donald for winning that penalty at the end.

Aside from that, I still think the All Blacks are playing like absolute ****. We just turn the ball over too easily. If we can hold onto the ball who knows what we could do. Personally, I think the lack of direction might be coming from halfback. Jimmy Cowan is a bit dodgy with his decision making imo.

I hate the chiefs for giving us ronald mcdonald but I have to admit that he played better than luke at 2nd 5. Hahaha I cracked up when Luke wasted himself that first time but when he did it a second time I was in tears with laughter what an egg going up high like that of course your jaws gonna get smashed.

AB's should play Donald at 12 and Nonu at 13, they played best with that combination.[/b]
Don't take this the wrong way, but I want to strangle you in front of your parents.

If Smith is fit, he should certainly be at 13.

I thought it was actually quite a good effort last night. We could have won by a lot more, really. Australia were lucky to be up by so much at half time. I still think we have to improve a bit on the basics. Maybe we could hold on to the ball a bit better. I think we can take on South Africa and beat them.

Ball retention is still a weak area for the AB's at the mo. Either the support players going into the rucks are a second too slow, or the ball carrier is going to ground too fast (not allowing support to arrive on cue). Still a more solid performance from the AB's less but still a lot of handling errors. Carter shows when he punts the ball, its with direction and with purpose and is effective, whereas Donald's kicking is very aimless. Still thank you Donald for winning that penalty at the end!

An AB player should've been carded in the first half. Ow well.

I think both Smith and McAlister are out for the rest of the Tri-Nations. From what I've read McAlister fractured his cheekbone (again?) and Smith tore his hamstring (again?).

Exciting match, though I still would have enjoyed more running rugby. Carter not at 100% but still bloody good.

I dunno. Carter is class, but some of his long kicking was poor. No doubt he'll get back to full form with Cowan's good supply.

Still not much going on in the AB midfield - lots of effort, little reward.

Hard to judge how these teams will improve. I disagree about Aus being lucky to be in it at the end - they look as if they can move up the gears, but rely on their defence too much and fail to take calculated risks in attack.

Anyway, it was good to watch. Hopefully the Saffer borefest will collapse in the away matches.

Nothing wrong with carters long kicking direction, one of them actually led to the winning penaltie that won the game for them...

All i can say is... CARTER IS BACK!!!

enjoyed going up to sydney for the game. it was worth it, although an unfortunate result for me. crowd was awesome, everyone was friendly. not like down here where you get abused by kiwis just for wearing a wallabies jersey. just so much better than the bledisloe in melb a few years ago... people actually know why they're there and no because they got free tickets through their work.

There was booing at every kick Carter made, wtf are you talking about. NZ, except for the matches against France, generally have pretty good crowds.

have you ever sat in a melbourne pub in your wallabies jersey watching a bledisloe cup match? you should try it sometime if you're keen to find out what i'm talking about.

i also though kaplan was ok, usually i hate his reffing but i think he got most of it right last night.

good win to the all blacks, scoring that try made the difference

Was just about to post this. Smith gonzo for the season with a bad rupture and Lucky Luke looks very unlikely to return.

With Dan back in the frame I reckon the Duck with his strong running might shine in the next match, Dan putting him into half gaps is going to cause problems. Guess Nonu is back in the fold as well given the Cartel's seeming inability to pick players out of the ANZC and make them shine. Fingers crossed Jane comes in ahead of the Roc for Hamilton.

Anyone else think the Bokke are one step beyond both teams?
