What TV Show's are you watching/looking forward to?

I'll be interested to see what they do with the half blood prince series. Others say they ruined the film turning it into a teenage romance and adding the attack on the house which didn't happen in the book. Cut a lot of the back story of V out which is important. I still enjoyed it.

Frost as Hagrid will be interesting.
Half Blood Prince suffers a lot from later books too much bloat.

It felt like after Goblet was huge She Who Must Not be Named was aiming at page count.

It got really messy, yeah. She even admitted Harry and Hermione being together made more sense. I think Order of the Phoenix was good, but after that? It really started to get messy. Half Blood was definitely bloated and the last was a real struggle at times.

with a tv series I thought they'd be closer to the books with the mores screen time they'd have. Looks like they will be a step further removed cause as mentioned I can't see how they have James and Sirius lynching a black man.

book Snape is so much creepier than movie Snape. Just an absolute asshole to a kid cause he wishes he'd had a child with the kid's mother.

I always treated the films as an accompaniment to the books. The books being darker, more detailed and an example that books > films. I didn't buy Radcliffe as Harry until much later as he grew into the role.

What an odd comment. It's nothing to do with "wokeness". It's just pants.
2 things can both be true.
Has Dr Who been a bit shit since Capaldi*? - absolutely, yes.
Has Dr Who received a lot of complaints about being woke? - absolutely, yes.

* let's face it, everyone will have a different line in the sand - from "was always a bit shit" to "only this iteration is a bit shit" with variations in between, such as "only the Dr from when I was 10-15 wasn't a bit shit")

The word woke has lost definition though and people basically use it to mean they don't like something now - ironically, that's what RTD is doing here to shut down any complaints.

Going from what I've seen, the writing is nonsensical and patronising.

Yeah but RTD is pretty familiar to bad faith arguments with people yelling woke (anyone working extensively on sci-fi franchise stuff is). I left facebook because that's all the crap it would feed me. Especially as creator of It's A Sin and Queer As Folk it would make sense he just ignores all that twaddle.

I quite like his return but having watched most return Who it kinda peaked early Matt Smith and been treading water since from my perspective. Its not really dived bombed or had an improvement quality.

See, I liked his early stuff despite being a bit too over dramatic in places. I guess you would need a thick skin or the ability to switch it off, but it seems like he won't take any criticism at all now and that's never a good thing imo. He can ignore it all he wants, but reality will hit him eventually.

Think Capaldi was my favourite. Sure, the stories were not always good, but the structure and humour were fun. I feel like the plan was to hand over to Capaldi and have him searching for his lost home after the events in Matt's era, but something must have changed 🤷‍♂️

Is it safe to mention Wheel of Time again here yet?

Yes, the first season was poor, dire once COVID hit, but the second was better, despite COVID issues. Season 3 though, is properly good TV

I liked Season 1...

But yeah Season 2 was remarkably better.

But yeah just finished up Season 3 today and there's a huge quality improvement.

Kinda understandable Season 1 like the book is Fantasy 101 the stories gets more interesting as it goes on.

Also fair play for them basically cutting Book 3 out. The chopping and changing of events has no doubt been a good thing.

Currently watching the Residence on Netflix. I like it but feel it's being dragged out to make 8 episodes too

Started watching Yellowstone, and the below rings true for that too:
A bit lazy/simplistic in that literally everything that could go wrong, does.

There have been a couple of times where I've literally laughed out loud at the next bad turn, it's just so silly sometimes, however if you view it as more of a soap opera than a HBO drama series competitor then it's entertaining - and really that's all you want from a TV show some times

1883 is much better.

I've been watching a run through of "House" starring Hugh Laurie and love little gems like this.
