A Political Thread pt. 2

He really is total scum.

All those Tory MPs who aren't calling for his head aren't much better.

Ian Blackford is 100% spot on. Lindsey Hoyle could have done with growing a set of balls and asking Big Dik to explain the prior statements and how there was a party in his own flat.

I'm no fan of the Met personally, but never assume corruption where bumbling incompetence and a terror of being seen as partisan are possible explanations. And that's despite my views on senior officers getting so called 'honours'.

The recently wavering Daily Mail is full square behind Boris today after his proposal to bypass parliament in rescinding EU regulations, rights and safeguards. He is going nowhere anytime soon.

The Tories will give him 6-12 months to see if his ratings can improve and to give party a chance to assess which of their non-entities might be a suitable replacement to put in place for the 2024 election if things don't improve.

No amount of legitimate frothing is going to see Boris head out the door imminently, so don't go giving yourselves ulcers over that chump.

I actually think that's very unfair on Sue Gray. It was clear she wanted to publish her whole report and it was the Met who interfered and forced her to remove most of her report. The big question for me is why did the Met investigate now? Was it simple incompetence on their part? Was it that Sue Gray found clear evidence the law had been broken and they started it based on her findings (which is pretty pathetic tbh)? Or did someone in the government give them the nod to go ahead with it?
