A Political Thread pt. 2

Speaking on Sky News, Kinnock said: "We are all about putting more money into the pockets of working people, but we do also have to ensure that we are balancing the books, and we have got to work in terms of public sector pay within fiscal constraints.

Labour found the money for train drivers and junior doctors. I am sure they can for nurses and teachers.

I am not convinced either will see 2.8% as enough and i don't blame them. Teaching unions won't be amused if the pay award has to come from cuts to other budgets.

You didn't say you were a bit of a contrarian. You said you were one and implied you were proud about it. Being a contrarian typically isn't a good thing bud.

It would be helpful if you just stated your own views more, what you believe to be true and not true as opposed to the both sides stuff all the time.

Also, I've not once quoted an article from the sources you mention so if you can just deal with what I say that would also be helpful
I mean I didn't say you posted or quoted them, I said you accepted and seal clapped them...

But I'll separate you from those, if you stop insisting my intentions in which you are way off. Everyone is a little contrarian, and I've never said I'm a big proud contrarian, that's false.

I've repeated my stance over and over, I have disdain for Trump, but if we are not honest about how we criticise him, or play into his game, we will miss the truly heinous acts he commits.

None of the noise about deporting children who's mother's decided to take them, the colour of his tie, deporting gang members, or whether or not he was urinated on by Russian hookers is important, the important parts are what he says and does, especially on the global stage. His supporters have only become more and more entrenched, Frank Luntz just performed a 100 day focus group, and the MAGA on there were calling it the greatest 100 days of presidential history, that is wild, and it's places like this that push them to that.

I only focus on what he says and does.

What are these heinous things he says and does in your opinion?

Yeah, a lot of that makes sense but against my better judgement I want to give him benefit of the doubt. Occasionally he writes something that I read and I may disagree with it but it's well thought out. Some of the stuff I read from him about some issues can even be insightful (assuming he hasn't chat GPT'd it. lol)
Just enough to keep you engaged....

I have commented on a number of issues that Trump has been involved in, I'm not sure why it requires repeating, but the few that seriously concern me is the cult of personality, I've mentioned A LOT about MAGA fans being further and further entrenched, I'm not sure if you have spoken to many of them, but it's as rough for me with them than it is here. I'm called all sorts, and literally 0 evidence of Trump doing something wrong is accepted, and written off as Democrat propaganda. As I mentioned Frank Luntz just ran a focus group and it's genuinely quite scary, he also used a great term 'dealignment'. I'd implore you to go read up on Luntz views, I quite like some of them.
Trumps addiction to loyalty is a super concerning trait, and something we have never seen in front of the cameras before, I can't gurentee every president didn't have similar traits, but openly none of them have come across as transparently vindictive to anyone who oposes him, even in small ways. As discussed with Ragey, the FBI is broken, but what he's done there is dangerous, specifically bullying and then investigating officers who worked on Jan 6th cases.

There are a few other things, but ultimately I don't see Trump as the danger most do, his first term had his hands tied behind his back by Dems and media etc, this time is a bit different because the Democrats never learned lessons from 2016, and gave him a mandate (or close enough to). But ultimately, I fear the president who has total media backing, bipartisan agreements, and has all agencies on side, that's when the people really lose IMHO!

Trump is a scum bag, he's a different scumbag than the usual politicians, and that's why he's loved, politicians have lost the public and Trump is picking up the peices, if we don't learn the culture lessons from the last decade, there will be a Trumpist leader of every western country, and then we will see real danger!

So he is a different scum bag who poses a different, unique kind of threat as you correctly linked his apparent obsession/use of loyalty and his cult of personality. Something no other president has done before in the same way. No insurrections, no plots to overturn elections and no denying election results for years. You even correctly shared another unique threat Trump poses by saying his influence could be so great it will have global effects.

I’m glad you’ve now joined the TDS army.
