The Ukraine War thread

This is massive. Imagine a nation you are at war with driving lorries upto your airbases and swarming them with drones, taking out a large percentage of your strategic bomber fleet?

To say the Ukrainians don't have any cards after this is stupid. The Ukrainians continue to hit and destroy targets against a bigger, more powerful enemy almost with impunity.

Now please be aware this is a very pro Ukrainian channel but this and other reports of the state of Russia's economy seems to be gathering momentum.

Hope it's true. I have heard a few commentators say that Putin's demise would likely be very sudden with him potentially getting bumped off. I just hope that TACO doesn't cut a deal with him and give him an out at the expense of Ukraine.

Well America has cut certain military supplies including air defence missiles in the last day or so instead of hitting Russia with more sanctions which could possibly have ended the war.

I mean he could have ended it. Hit Russia with secondary sanctions and it's economy would collapse
What is their economy like these days? Not saying you’re wrong (and even if you are I’d still do it anyway) but I remember similar stuff said when they got hit last time but they got through it (with the help of China?)

Rather we just armed Ukraine to the teeth to be honest.

It's economy has been very resilient up to now but that's been helped by the west not hitting Russia with those secondary sanctions, ie if you trade with Russia you get sanctioned as well. There are real signs now though that's it's creaking without them. Inflation is high and there are big shortages of food products. Contract soldiers get upto 10 times the normal monthly wage and it's currently on 30-40% GDP levels of military spending which is now really causing a strain. Yes it's economy has grown but thats down to massive spending.

The whole Russia is collapsing has been used far too often but from a western perspective our economies would have collapsed by now. It's only the normal Russians capacity to suffer and the fear of a common enemy (the West) that's stopping the government from collapsing. In most other countries there would be riots on the streets

Men are not endless in Ukraine. They are already trying to catch everyone everywhere there, already talking about drafting women, the age bar of drafted people is going lower and lower etc. They were thinking how to catch all those men who left Ukraine but can't find effective ways. Who'll go to the front line?
My cousin was stopped on the middle of the road this winter and was taken to the base (had to literally leave his car on the road),thankfully his dad has loads of money and my cousin is not on the front line, not yet..
It's very easy to sit comfortably at home in Europe and talking about how Ukrainians should fight, how we can arm them to the teeth etc etc but reality is very different.
About Russian economy.. there's a good phrase in Russian "poka tolstiy sohnet- hudoy sdohnet", meaning while fat person is getting thinner,a thin person will die. Ukraine must negotiate somehow, that's it, otherwise they'll lose more territory and will follow Paraguayan variant if we're talking about men..
I'm not worrying about Russian economy, salaries are same, prices are same there, I'm more worried about situation in Poland for example, where prices are going extremely higher, fuel, electricity, gaz etc all are x3/x4 now

Ultimately I believe in the right to let Ukraine decide for themselves if they want to fight.
