I played a little bit when it was free on PS+ and came to the same conclusion,
Vaguely fun but nothing drew me in

From what I gather it's significantly better playing as a party, though - like Sea of Thieves

I took a punt on this after reading the comments on here... Well worth the money.

I slightly disagree about the combat though, I just think you need patience to wait for the opportunities.
It's a system aimed at 1 v 1 and if you get outnumbered it's frustrating, but that's kind of realistic as you'd definitely be screwed back then if you were in that situation.
It's all about backing off, watching your stamina and waiting for the master strikes.
If you Leroy Jenkins into combat then you're going to come off second best.

I do like the way the game will let you think you're making the right decision, and then further on you discover you didn't (or maybe you did, depends...) but the game just continues on. Like it's going "I'm not angry with you, I'm just disappointed"
 
How's the lockpicking?

The time I put the most hours into the game was not long after it came out on console and lock picking was essentially broken (they'd mapped the mouse/keyboard controls to controller and the movements you needed to do were borderline impossible with the thumbsticks) - I know they've patched quite a lot since then though
 
It’s OK, I’ve got quite a high level in lock picking which makes it easier. I followed a guide on YouTube which gets you a few lock picks at the start, but broke them all in one go.

It’s another thing where once you get the hang of it, it isn’t that difficult.

I’m playing on console and I tried the simplified option but actually find the other easier.
 
The boxing game "Undisputed" is on PS+ for free this month, so I'm giving that a go
Remember being pretty hyped when they were showing the development of it, it looked fantastic and they talked a big talk
In reality....it's ok.
Reviews are pretty bad, why so far do feel a bit harsh (I think it's low 2 stars on the PlayStation store) but then I'm playing for free and didn't pay £40+

It just feels...not as well made as the UFC games (and they're far from perfect)
The most annoying thing so far is the small loading screen whenever there's a knockdown, so it can change the camera angle to the referee doing the 10 count. Just ruins all momentum/immersion


Edit: take it back, four fights into my career and low 2s is probably generous, the striking is so janky

Top KCD2 lock picking tip. If using a controller hold it flat and pinch the right thumb stick makes it so much easier.

Just restarted Witcher 3 again. If they don't release the rumoured new DLC I'll have wasted another 100 hours of my life.
 
GTA5 which is fine I didn't touch it when it first came out because I found previously GTA games actual gameplay clunky as heck and heard the the characters were utterly dislikable. But it was part of PS+ so I didn't pay a penny and I love RDR2. Its exactly what I thought/read but I'm enjoying it enough between games but yeah the nihilism of it kinda grates. I guess its little wonder open world crime games took a hard turn after this in terms of its tone including Rockstar for RDR2

I did watch the trailers for GTA6 finally and that actually looks like a fun game with fun characters.
 
I hated one part in particular where it forces you to do something that I didn’t find pleasant.

In fact, all games that give you a sense of freedom to play the game how you want, but then have points where it not only gives you no choice, but basically autopilots you through that choice.
 
Is that the first one? I found the fighting unbelievably pain staking.

Furthermore, anyone had a go on Battlefield 6, and is it any good? Especially the campaign

It's....ok

Campaign is short and average, it was fun enough for a modern setting shooter but I wouldn't pay out just for that

Online I'm finding OK but I don't like the maps - far too enclosed, I much preferred the wide open ones in previous games. Even the supposedly large scale all out warfare ones still feel more COD like than BF

The more I play it the more I consider re-downloading BF5
 
I’ve put in over 140 hours in two months on Kingdom Come Deliverance.

Bought the sequel on offer and picked up Hogwarts Legacy? For 11 quid.
 
Yeah I really really liked Hogwarts Legacy

They'd be mad not to do a sequel, I know games take forever to make and cost a bomb but it was very successful and the HBO show will renew a lot of people's interest/get a new generation of fans on board
 
I completed ghost of yotei last week, so looking for something to play in my spare time. Or wait for Lego Batman / James Bond / crimson desert
 
I've now got the hang of the KCD fighting.

Basically all I do is stay defensive, parry then attack.

Mace is OP.

Definitely gonna get KCD2 when it's on sale

Only time it gets tricky is if you’re taking on three of more.

Have you got the master strikes yet?
Get in with that then whack them on the head as a follow up.

I go with an axe for the triple threat.

KCD2 was on sale the other day. Still £40 mind you for the royal edition.
 
Started on KCD2.

First irritation thing they’ve done is completely change all the controls when there was absolutely no need.

Drawing a sword is now a multi button faff while you’re being smashed over the head.

People complained about the combat system in the first game, IMO it was better than this one.

Having the block on an analogue button is daft too, half the time it doesn’t register I’ve pressed it, the rest of the time it just ignores that I have.

The game directly continues from the first so making you learn pretty much the same stuff all over again is very annoying.

I've seen conflicting reviews, so I am waiting for a few patches and a sale.

The jump and talk button being the same is a bit mad.

Also appears you can only interact with NPC who are part of quests, everyone else is silent.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Remastered finished last night. It felt like the longest of the 3 games. I took a 5-month break during it because my PS5 controller got stick drift and I kept putting off fixing it. Having to shoot people multiple times for them to go down was annoying. It's an enjoyable trilogy but I don't see myself playing any other Remastered For PS4 games it'll have to be up to date stuff.
 
The bullet sponges are easily my least favourite mechanic in any of the Uncharted series. Reading this is making me want to dust off my PS4 Pro and fire up the 4th, as it's my favourite and been some time. I still do not own a PS5, looking doubtful that I ever will given the price increases. Shame as there's a few exclusives I've been keen on such as the Demon's Souls remaster but it just doesn't justify the outlay plus small fortune in games themselves after. New Xbox on the horizon as well, hopefully it delivers again. Been very pleased going with the Series X + Game Pass as my lead console this generation. Currently doing a Witcher 3 play through in bed (some late nights!) and Forza Horizon 6 with mates in evenings. Latter is probably the best entry to the series so far, absolutely fantastic.

Question for Switch (OG, not 2) owners - my better half has been using it a lot lately, especially in hospital stays... Any game recommendations? No Zelda. Wants entertaining but nothing sweaty and is easy to pick up and put down due to circumstances. Can be big publisher or indie but can't be anything Anime or Japanese Manga looking. Recent game she's enjoyed is Dinkum but one of her favourite of all time is Gears of War 2 (she was basically a dude bro and likes AAA action) so her tastes can vary wildly. We have a pretty small library on switch. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
