Aye a lot of people have a alot of stick against Robshaw but there is absolutely no doubt who this teams leader is. Puts in the work rate as well is he the best option in that position? Debatable but who else could LEAD England now?

Meh, as a 6 he wouldn't be a good fit in the Irish back row, I'd say the same for Wales and would come in at about 5th for Wales and 7th for Ireland in a battle for a backrow shirt. Saying that I don't see Lydiate, Murphy or Ruddock getting too close to starting for England. Backrows in the NH today are all about balance due to the lack of "real" 7's and Robshaw provides that with his defensive work, link play and work at the breakdown for England, with Warbs and Lydiate in Wales and Heaslip, O'Brien, Henry and/or O'Mahoney (who all do certain aspects better as well as having different strengths) he simply would be surplus to requirements.
All in all it's a pointless argument to have because regardless of where he'd be in the pecking order anywhere else as he's obviously a vital player for England which is the subject of the thread.
I think you're right but overdoing the argument; I think NH back rows are somewhat constructed in terms of what's available, but each coach would change their mind on what works depending on material, at least to a point. Robshaw wouldn't fit as an Irish blindside as Schmidt allegedly places a big emphasis on lineout ability and I don't think his breakdown ability can get him ahead of O'Brien or Henry at openside; but maybe he'd be pondering things with Robshaw available. He is, imo, close enough to Lydiate to be a live contender for Welsh blindside. Tbh, apart from teams that demand fantastic jumpers at blindside, I think Robshaw could fit into team or model, because one of his main strengths is the ability to perform nearly every back row duty to a significant standard. If I was to compare him to a player it would be Coetzee, another man who I think benefits from being a high quality jack-of-all-trades; Coetzee is a better athlete though. But, although Robshaw could fit into any teams, he's not quite good enough to demand selection. Good enough that no one would complain about him in their team, not good enough that people would want him there. But it doesn't matter because...

Although I might argue that his vital nature comes down mainly to the lack of chances given to his deputies.

2nd point if you think Robshaws better than Lydiate your delusional Robshaw didnt get a look in in the Lions squad, nor would he now.
Lydiate is just a poor mans Joe Worsley.

I'd go with that, and you're comparison with Coetzee, although I'd emphasise the difference in physical ability/general athleticism - it's more a gulf than a slight gap.

Luckily I live in Wales and am not daft enough to think anything other than valley commando is the minority and a prat and the forum would probably be better without him
Back to the point though I think Robshaw suits England perfectly . He is regularly the best player on the park and rarely has a bad game . It's all well and good having a lot of potential but if you hardly ever take that to the pitch then someone like Robshaw is probably a better pick even if he is slightly down on some others when it comes to level of skill . By the way I'm not pin pointing anyone in particular just highlighting Robshaws level of consistency

By the way I'd be more than happy to say to you face to face that I think Robshaw is a better player than Lydiate . Its only opinion. Also on the lions remark I think a lot comes down to the coach . I'm almost 100% sure if Lancaster was the coach Robshaw would be the captain . Coaches tend to stick with the person they know or their right hand man if you like . At the time of the lions tour there was no way Warburton was the best openside in the British Isles as a matter of fact there were plenty of people saying he was 2nd behind Tipuric in Wales and was definitely behind SOB but he's Gatlands go to man . Simples

Robshaws an outstanding player, MOTM half the time he plays and has a big impact on the pitch. He wouldnt captain his Club and Country if he was as limited as some people on here seem to think.

Think the Welsh have some clear cannot afford to lose players, especially with depth already being tested. Think losing AWJ would be a huge blow for not only his work, but the leadership he offers, Lions Raw really showed him well, I'd have him as the Welsh/Lions captain every time.
English have better depth, so would cope better, but there's still a few players that would signify huge losses for us and I think push us over the edge.
NZ just seem to have player after player who can step up, last week I'd have said losing A Smith would be the biggest blow, but TJP was immense.
Boks I think may be vulnerable to a few key losses, BDP, Le Roux etc
Irish definitely have some key players that they'll struggle without, Murray and Sexton being the prime two, Murray especially (since a poorer scrumhalf will effect Sexton a lot in turn).

Okay, no more name calling or I just close thread.
And it's probably been like this for a long time between the two teams.
Although AWJ is a great talisman, I think there are enough leaders in the team to get them through (my opinion of course). If Wales lose Gethin, AWJ and Warbs, then maybe I'd be a bit more worried about leadership. You'd lose AWJ experience, passion and his mobility if he were to be injured, but then I think the cover in the SR is able to withstand an injury.

off topic, so maybe one to move to suggestions but why close a perfectly good thread because of one persons poor behaviour..... just dish out a temporary ban, because lets face it it's not the first time we've been at this stage of petty insults being chucked around by certain people.
Can you, the mods, restrict people from posting in certain areas - i've been on other forums where to gain access to various areas you had to show a degree of good behaviour and regular posting (stopped the trolls).
