[RWC2019][Pool D] Round 2 - Australia vs. Wales (29/09/2019)

Wales genuinely created nothing they just defended well and kicked goals. If that's the what it takes to win rugby why ******* watch? Do boring.

The penalty against Kerevi for running into a defender perfectly encapsulated what rugby is now.

If that is what is required then why did Australia not do it?

So my question to you are Australia now a below average team because they just lost to an average team?

Edit: I've been waiting for this

Aus are awful.mate. they have no nous whatsoever. They were clearly superior around the ground in but they have the intelligence of a worm.

Australian rugby is over.

Gracious in defeat I see!
Come on fella, get a grip. A game may not go the way you want but there are many ways to get to the end result. I can’t see a problem in absorbing pressure and defending when you have a big lead, Aussie played a great second half but it was they who ultimately allowed Wales to adopt a defence game strategy. As for box kicks they are a part of a modern game & drop goals, though much maligned keep the score board turning over. Ultimately the best team won.

Screw it. I genuinely hate the way Wales play. It's awful.

Don't think Aus played much better. Wales made plenty of linebreaks in the first half. Looked to move the ball, and get it out wide into Noth and Adams' hands. Aus' main tactic was to pass it to Karevi to bulldoze his way though.

Alyn wyn jones isn't there to make metres he's there to do the captains job and that is tackle his heart out , keep a cool head in heavy situations and inspire his team and imo nobody in world rugby does it better , an absolute engine and gem of a bloke

It's pointless trying to argue with this troll pal.

Australia only have themselves to blame,
Wales missed 30 tackles - if you can't capitalise on that then you're a mug.

If Wales are so negative and Australia these shining beacons of positive running rugby then they should have been running in tries for fun

Great result for us! Did well last ten minutes to close the game out.

R.E clock stopping at scrums. It's one of them isn't it. If you've got the put in you're ok with reset scrums as it winds down the clock. If you haven't got the put in it's frustrating AF!

Didn't hear anything said about Biggar. Did he fail his HIA or just off as precaution? Patch did great to be fair. We can relax till the 9th now. We'll need it after that. Fans included!

Easier with 13 eh.

Bit of a strange one. Wales just couldn't get their hands on the ball in the second half, and I think that is only partly explained by conditions (was the hottest day of the tournament so far, there were water breaks at the Georgia game). Wallabies showed a lot of spirit and decent ability. DHP and Toomua did better than I was expecting, but they will not get any purchase against an English pack come the knockouts.

Just like the France vs Argentina game (and sport since time immemorial) the psychology totally changes when the team making the comeback gets back on level pegging.

Glad for Patchell, there is so much guff sprouted about his mental ability and his performance was no surprise to me. Patchell, Stephen Jones and the Scarlets connection at 9, 10 & 12 is the stars coming into alignment for something special from Wales. But they'll stick Biggar back in (who in fairness hasn't put a foot wrong in this tournament.

TBF this is correct, loosing against Wales feels shite because they play shite rugby. It works though.....and TBF it sounds like and looking at the scoreline this wasn't a typical Wales slugfest.
But loosing against Wales shouldnt be a surprise after we've beaten you twice this year and notched another GrandSlam ;)..

Oops Welsh arrogance ..

Better reign that arrogance in a bit because still 2 important games to play , Fiji will be bang up for ruining the Welsh party , I've tasted defeat to them before so back to the job and take nothing for granted and I know alyn wyn won't . Plenty of work left for that QF spot ...
