A Political Thread pt. 2

Nice to see a little ray of hope in the middle east, celebrations in Gaza and Isreal, hostages released, Palestinians incarcerated released...

Why are there still protests around europe though?
Apparently one of the Palestinians being released is a guy called Nabil Abu-Hadir who stabbed his own sister to death in front of her kids for being an Israeli informant. Sounds like a lovely bloke.

Let's hope that's not another Yahya al-Sinwar situation.

Hmmm

I suspect some of those remains are now buried under buildings the the IDF razed to the ground.

And example of Israel "good" Palestine "bad"?
Just a shame Hamas couldn't release the 1000 or so civilians they butchered and raped on October 7th. It's an example of a democracy with a legal system that doesn't involve beheading people for the crime of being gay, for example.

I agree with you to a small extent, but let's not forget that Israel bombed hospitals and humanitarian supply areas and killed innocent people…. So what form of democracy is that?

A democracy that wants to protect itself. How do you think the UK would act if you plonked it in the Middle East? Be all sunshine and rainbows?

Mohammed Sinwar was literally killed hiding under a hospital like a ******* coward while the people they pretend they care about are getting killed in their thousands. But of course, this is what they want.

Also, I've said this before but worth mentioning again, 36 hospitals in Gaza prior to October 7th. Not suss at all.

A democracy that oppressed a civilisation until a minority snapped and carried out atrocities.

Hamas are terrorist organisation, no denying that. But Israel have not covered themselves in glory and also have a sector of society who are no better.

The people that suffer are always the good / law abiding citizens which is what has happened here

I agree with the last bit as is always the case in war. I also agree Israel haven't covered themselves in glory but I also think it was pretty much impossible to do that fighting an enemy like Hamas.

I disagree with the "snapped" part. It was a calculated strategy and they got exactly what they wanted.

The ANC didn't "snap" like Hamas. Nor did the IRA or anyone else in history pretty much. None of these organisations had genociding their oppressors and wiping out the country as an essential part of their identity and belief structure. Hamas are uniquely ****** up. I can't think of any example in history of a group that actually couldn't give 2 shits about the people they say they are fighting for. In fact, they want them to die.

68,000 dead, 20,000 of them children. And they haven't sifted through the rubble to find the rest yet.

People always leave out the amount of Hamas that have been killed in that 70 thousand dead figure. I've heard 25-30 thousand. Adds a bit of context doesn't it. The way you say it it's like they just killed 70 thousand people and no Hamas terrorists.

Where did you here that? as far as I know every news source states that the PA doesn't split the casualties between hamas and civvies
