A Political Thread pt. 2

- BBC ran a paragraph in their live updates essentially indicating information that the plan may be to split Ukraine in two. West half to be a puppet regime and Eastern half to presumably be incorporated into the Russian federation (as the nervous Russian spy chief said he supported on live TV for the separatist areas on the link I posted earlier). I think this sounds viable as a plan for Russia if they don't intend to go into full madness in the Baltic states.
I've felt that was the most likely end-game from the moment he sent tanks in, beyond the rebel areas.
Annex the Eastern half, destroy the infrastructure, and anything remotely militarily strategic in the Western half, install a puppet in the West, declare victory, go home and draw up plans for Georgia, based on how NATO reacted.

But that was mostly based on the obvious division a glance at a map would suggest, and his stated (yeah, I know) desire to have a buffer nation between Russia and NATO

NATO have moved forces into Eastern Europe. How else should they have reacted?

I'm crying...
There are no Russians or Ukrainians,we are all MIX of both...and now my motherland bombs my second motherland. Brothers against brothers. I can't stop crying today, even in the office..
We decided to collect humanitarian aid at work with my Ukrainian colleague.
My relatives in Ternopol and Lvov are still ok, thanks God there are no bombings there, but they don't want to leave Ukraine..most of Russians don't support this ****, people are trying to protest and some of them are already in prison... meantime there are still lots of mad people, who thinks it's "inevitable", talked to my Dad's cousin from Ternopol today and she mentioned Ukrainians who are waiting for Putin to "make order in Ukraine".. people are crazy. My Dad's cousin doesn't want to wait for this "order" and she leaves Ukraine tomorrow with her daughter. Probably forever. She'll stay at my apartment in the beginning and then we'll see..but she doesn't know when she'll even cross the border, cause there are lots of people on the borders now... Eastern Ukraine is done. Kyiv is almost done. I've heard about Chechen squads near Kyiv and that's an absolute nightmare...my Dad told me they are like animals .. I'm scared for people in Kyiv.
Can't stop crying. Drinking alcohol and crying. What we are doing

Jesus:eek:
So, Putin announced a "special operation" and surgical strikes to military objects near: Kharkov, Kramatorsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Mariupol.
Also (translated quote, so mistakes are possible):

My Dad told me EXACTLY the same a week ago, when I was asking him about tanks etc invasion/noninvasion, he told me "no,no tanks, this will be a Syrian scenario: surgical strikes to Ukrainian military objects" and I thought he just didn't understand anything and what was he talking about...damn, he was right:eek: maybe I have to ask him more.
Trying to call my relatives who live in Western Ukraine ..my grandmother, my 3 aunts, their families, and my uncle live in Ternopol and Lvov. Will write if there are some news :eek:

I told you Putin was evil. Remember. He's still got his old KGB mentality. I think the only way to get rid of him is to send Trump over to Russia to kiss his ass like he used to do, and then slip a poisonous suppository up there between kisses. We'll have to put Trump in a trance, because he'll never agree to it on his own. Not quite James Bond, but it will do the job.

Kudos to the Russian people who are demonstrating against Putin. They're very brave considering what might happen to them when they're arrested.
