I wouldn't put her in the same camp as that shower but as HS she has to talk big on immigration. If it wasn't her someone else would be spouting the same lines. We are a country obsessed with it. Politicians, media and people. Leaving the ECHR is Brexit phase two and the next GE will be a referendum on that. We're ******.
Fair enough, to a degree. She's still saying horrible **** about people that haven't done anything wrong though - only 2 or 3 months ago she was banging on about ending visas for care workers, as if we'd suddenly magic up 100,000 British care workers from somewhere.
I think her and Lammy in particular have been either diddled or seduced by the power of their position. They're decent people underneath but toeing the govt line means they end up abandoning their principles.
A slight aside, but if the Beeb etc would just take the megaphone away from Farage's revolting frog lips for a few years (or if he'd get in another tiny plane and the gods smiled on us) immigration would fall away as a massive issue and maybe we could focus on actually fixing things.

If you compare this cabinet to Blair's one it's night and day. He had Brown, Straw, the Milibamds etc. Proper heavyweight politicians. Lammy, Reeves, Streeting are just bad. We lack good calibre people in all the main parties.
Agreed. Lammy is over promoted - should be on the housing brief or local govt sec maybe. He's a good MP. Reeves and Streeting shouldn't be past the back benches.
People knew what they were getting when they voted Labour. Unfortunately people had little alternatives.
I don't really expect anyone from the top table to speak out. One thing Starmer has been very good at is quelling dissenting voices. Especially those on the left
Would like Lammy to do more foreign sec stuff but Starmer seems to have taken on the blunt of the work. Disappointed in Rayner as a former Union shop steward she still managed to get in a fight with Unite and suspended from the unions.

Yup these guys are a massive step up on the last lot which sadly isn't saying much.
Reeves to be fair to her is pretty much tied up in knots over electoral promises on the economy.
Milliband quite good on the environment.
I dunno it just feels like a group of middle managers I've no idea who is actually calling the shots or has vision.

Asian heritage family moves in to reform council area near the councilers in July, he immediately goes on racist tirades against them, so they call him racist and invite him to dinner, where he continues his racist rants and risk their safety, to the point they record hours of abuse and send it to his council.
Maybe its just bad reporting missing key details, but I find it odd a counciler, for a new party everyone calls racist, goes on these hours long public racist tirades, against a family who literally just moved in, and then I find it odd that that family who is scared for their safety invites them into their home, before recording him and sending it to his bosses, instead of police.
How is that not a fascinating story? Even the fact that he didnt deny any allegation, and that the comments made from Reform are that hes stepped down for personal reasons, and things were getting on top of him, are interesting.
Do you not want to read more of the details?

Yes. I think it would be the epitome of stupid, to work for a party that has allegations of racism lobbed at it daily, to be overtly racist in public, to the point there is hours of video, against a new family who moved on to your street mere days ago, and to ramp up a tirade of abuse on the street for hearing Bob Marley, one of the most popular people the planet has ever seen...
I'd love to read more, or see the videos, but there seems to be a lack of detail that I can find, just copy paste articles from the original.

Not really, if anyone was going to go on racist rants it would be someone who belongs to a far right party not sure that's a suprise. It's always the ones you most expect
As for being the "epitome of stupid" what makes you think he isn't stupid or even have a lack of empathy and understanding that makes him think what he did was actually did was fine?

its become an over used buzzword for bad person i disagree with, noone has a specific definition that makes sense. But whether reform are extremist authoritarians id rather not get into, its like Trump, those who hate them so viciously cant have rational conversations about them.
I certainly dont think the term 'its always the ones you most expect' is anything but radicalised nonsense. Absolutes dont exist on thos planet outside maths. I keep hearing the same about left wingers and pedophilia, its absolute ridiculous.
In my experience of working with criminalised young people, including those who have fallen (rightly so in most cases) to hate crime and speech laws, some low IQ, incredibly ignorant of the world and society in general, even they have the sense to keep their racist thoughts to themselves or closed circles. Usually emotional disregulation, ifnorance of the law, or mob mentality catches them out, including btw a number of left wingers (i can think of 3 examples off the top of my head, 1 who screamed the N word at black conservatives at a rally in recent years, while wearing a t shirt saying 'hate has no place here'.
But maybe he is a low IQ moron who just loves to walk down the road abusing non white people, im not defending him, not in the slightest, im just looking for more info to read about it, maybe see some of the video.

Reform are such a nasty party. I'm all for a disruptor in British politics but they are all about division, fear mongering, destabilising and inciting trouble/racism all through carefully crafted messaging. It's almost January 6th levels but with more polished arse covering messaging.
Bringing women and children's safety into the narrative is disgusting. Where was Farage when domestic abuse was spiking during lockdown? Why isn't he supporting the campaign on violence against women and girls? He doesn't give a monkey's about their safety.

Its interesting, nearly every person who describes Reform as bad, use the exact same words almost to the letter. Its like watching the famous US videos, of local news stations, who when zoomed out to more and more on screen are all reading from the same script. I think this is how influencial we are to the media, millions of people having the exact same thought...
If reform were that bad, and that crafty, then why does every single person I speak to know exactly what they are trying to do in their opinion? The negates the craftiness surely.
Again, I think these criticisms, and you aptly link it to US, are just *insert right wing name* bad, because reasons.
Its certainly more nuanced than that, i dont think Farage is that patriotic, or even believes much of what he says, I think he identifies where mainstream is weak, and hammers in on it... had the last tory government been really harsh on immigration I could imagine Farage screaming human rights abuses.
Bringing womens and children's safety into most arguments are stupid, they have become such conflated issues. If you believe Asian families / fathers / men are a risk of grooming, FGM, and honour killings you are right, if you believe the majority of abuse is by white brits your also right, people just pick the stat that backs their beliefs.
What i would say on women and girls, but id add boys, is that the referral and safeguarding system is ******!!! AS1s arent worth the paper theyre written on, MARFs and MARACs arent much better, and the police intels are pretty much on par with letters to santa!
I sat on a police statt meeting recently, where they were discussing a 15 year old pregnant girls safeguarding case, and the report from the weekend showed she left the residential placement 11 times in 3 days in taxis, returned approximately 60 minutes later each time, with cannabis and takeaway food, and it has been going on for months. Social workers, and police discussed it like it wasnt a ******* tragedy. This kid has been criminalised 5 times this year for abusing police officers, and you know what, id have been far worse to them if I was in her situation, imagine the rage of being let down, and used by hundreds of men, only to be arrested for calling an officer a see you next Tuesday!!!!!!
Violence against women and girls (and boys) is a political tool ised by all the fuckers, dont believe only the ones you hate dont care!

People who play on the experiences of victims, particularly of violence or sexual assaults, are a particular kind of arsehole I have very little time for.
Those who try to actually address the problem I have plenty of time for but not those who treat it as little more than a card to play. I mentioned previously, it reminds me of a guy I knew who was all for defending women from sexual predators, as long as they were trans, foreign it a different colour or religion, ie not a group he identified with. As soon as it became about ting action against straight, white males oh how much did he whine about broad brushes and "not all men are like that".
