Yeah its quite funny that you even have to make such an add, its just crazy...but if that is a problem (stupid as it sounds) it needs to be and is being addressed.

That problem accounts for between 550 and 1350 baby deaths per year in the United States, which was the first country to recognise s.b.s. as a specific c.o.d. in infants.

The incidence of s.b.s. in New Zealand is about mid-range in the developed world and much lower than in Third World countries.

"Once Were Warriors" has created a lot of bad press for this country. The character of Jake the Muss has lot more to answer for that just the way he treats his family!

Why has no one mentioned the poor husbands who get beating up when the ABs lose?

I am sure it happens, and it should be made aware, you don't see any studies on husband-beaters, do you? Its spousism I tells ya

LOL, hell yeah! I have seen some big Kiwi girls that would knock the living **** out of their hubbies.

"Once Were Warriors" was a fantastic film. It highlighted the problem of domestic violence in NZ, without glamourising the issue. For a small independent film it was a critical success and won numerous awards in NZ and abroad.

Yeah Im not pinning this on NZ alone, domestic violence and shaking of babies is a worldwide problem.
