I've just checked the IRB Hall Of Fame and I see people like, Phillipe Sella, Gareth Edwards, John Eales and I think to myself... wow, Arguably the most well known and overall dominant rugby player of the last century isn't even included.
Especially considering the condition of which he played so superbly with surely increases his chances of being inducted.
You ask any of the players these days what they think of Jonah, and there will be great things said.

I think he deserves to be in there anyone else?

Don't you have to be retired to be in there?
Or something along those lines

Edit:
Scrap that, he was nominated in 2008 and didn't make the cut

He'll be there eventually, he was imo the games first international superstar.

Damn that's hard to believe.
I wonder why he never made it in

No idea.
He lost out to:

  • Jack Kyle,

  • Hugo Porta,

    Argentina
  • Philippe Sella,

    France

It's a matter of "when" rather than "if", though. To echo what durbutter said: he was rugbys first superstar.

Well those guys are some of the greatest player of all time. It's no shame to be stuck behind Jackie Kyle.

Yep, well as it's been said already, it's a matter of time probably ... it's only been going since 2006

... even with my biased NZ glasses on, there are other NZers i'd put in before Jonah though based on results and achievements, i'd probably have Colin Meads or Brian Lochore.

As an alternative you could view International Rugby Hall of Fame, selected by international rugby writers, that has been going since 1997 - http://www.rugbyhalloffame.com ... and yes, Jonah is in there

In the IRB Hall of Fame the kiwis are:
Wilson Whineray,
Joe Warbrick.

Bare in mind it's only been going for four years though, and the first year was just Rugby School and William Webb Ellis and 2009 was a Lions themed one, with only Boks and Lions inducted.
So two out of two isn't bad for NZ
