What about Aaron Smith? he has brought some added venom the the already deadly All Black backline, and has score some amazing tries also...
Hahaha I just read through the whole thread.
The anti-McCaw sentiment is just laughable.
Some posters seem to think that he shouldn't get the award this year (even if he is the most deserving) because he won it in '09 when they felt he shouldn't have got it!?!
Haters gonna hate no matter what I guess...
Kahn Fotualii. He has proven himself at test level that he is one of OR the best scrumhalf in the world.
The IRB should stop this biased rubbish selections.
Doesn't count. Players get points for international games played. It'll go to McCaw.Eh no. He is rubbish for his club.
Eh no. He is rubbish for his club.

Since when? He's been great for the O's this season. It took him a little bit of time to settle in, but he's come good now. Not sure he's been the best international player this year though.
The shortlist came out:
Richie McCaw, Dan Carter, Frédéric Michalak and... Owen Farrell.
That's really surprising and extremely underwhelming. It will go to McCaw, but I'd like to see it go to DC.
The IRB Awards panel comprises some of the biggest names in the Game in Will Greenwood, Gavin Hastings, Raphaël Ibanez, Francois Pienaar, AgustÃn Pichot, Scott Quinnell, Tana Umaga and Paul Wallace.
He doesn't even make the Saracens starting team.Farrell doesn't even make the England starting team.
