Kurtley Beale in Trouble

Life is crazy today (family emergency), and I hope to get to those articles that have recently been linked, but only have time for this atm:

regardless of Patston there are two points here:

Q: Was what Beale did ok in a modern work environment?

Answer: No, it was sexist and bullying

Q: Is there a bigger issue with Patston within the ARU set up?

Possibly.

the point is you can't let Beale off his bad behaviour because she's might or might not be a tw*t, and you can't look at ther credentials and suitablitity for the job in the context fo the incident between her and Beale.

For the most part I do agree with this. Beale WAS inappropriate in his behavior and needs to face some sort of discipline, and it seems there is a bigger issue within the ARU. As far as Di's suitability for the job perhaps I am forming erroneous opinions based on her texts and hearsay, so I'll give those other articles a read as soon as I can to see if my opinion changes. For now, I still don't have much confidence in the lady.

We've been discussing a member of a particular team who said something stupid and then had a blow-up with a staffer, and got himself banned from playing.

Oh, and we've also been discussing the Beale/ARU situation, too.

;)

hearing was today, 1 positive rep point to the first person who can tell me what the farcical outcome was?

edit: Ninja'ed...

Not guilty but fined - amazing.

GN10, see the stuff about Beale's texts having been tampered with?

I'm happy with this. His misconduct wasn't on the field, so the fine rather than suspension is appropriate (though I expected it to be higher). I'm guessing there is a bit more to the story than we'll ever know, but I hope the press releases shed some acceptable light on why he got off relatively easy. No pun intended. ;)

hold on. Was this tribunal just about what happened in June? or does it include the interaction on the plane too?

If he didn't send the second picture, then who did??

Really disagree Das, he was in the professional environment, they basically said he's been suspended already so they won't suspend him again... it's a terrible outcome for the ARU and the sport.

He will rejoin the Wallabies soon enough and the boys club can start all over again.

Whatever problems exist within the wider ARU are still there. Whatever problems exist within the Australian squad are still there. Removing McKenzie and Patston alone won't solve Australia's problems and I'm still incredibly hazy about what's gone on which I suspect means "Everybody acted very badly so we're grateful for this chance to stop things before we have air more dirty laundry".

Because the problem is really all about the gender of the PA.
