Life after Eddie …

Jones wont be going anywhere....he'll cost too much.

If i were the RFU i would haul him in...tell him to stop f%&king around and get it all back to basics...pick the best on form players and go out and try to win the 6n and see what happens in the WC

The RFU debrief looking something like this would be interesting:

Honestly there's part of me that wouldn't mind Gatland for a year sure we'd be playing turgid shite but at least it would be disciplined turgid shite.
He'd get you to a semi final no worries. Mind you I kinda think Eddie will as well.

I'd just support Japan until post-RWC tbh,

If EJ's lost the dressing room I don't think bringing Gatland in will help considering we have a lot of players who have played under him on Lions tours where...he lost the dressing room

We are a laughing stock in Social Media....Little Faf makes a mockery of English Rugby.....

I'm amazed that, after years of us having some of the worst discipline of any T1 nation and often losing games off the back of it, we still try to play silly buggers, still react to wind ups and still give away tons of stupid penalties. Regardless of what anyone thinks about Jones, first 2 years aside, our discipline has been shocking. This isn't a thing unique to him, English sides have always had bad discipline. I just can't understand why no coaches seem willing or able to deal with it. Is it part of our national mentality? Are we just plain and simply incapable of keeping control and not doing braindead stuff? Hell we could be playing T2 sides and thrashing them and still walk away with a worse penalty count.

As Brown mentioned, Jones keeps saying it's his fault when it goes wrong. If that's the case, why is he facing no consequences?

England are no better or worse that most T1 nations. Where we struggle is our rapport with the refs. I can guarantee that if England had scored SA tries on Saturday both would of been looked at more intensely.
Our players under Eddie have seemingly rarely got on the good side of refs even in games we have won. I wonder if this a consequence of how he interacts with refs and how our players talk to refs.
When we do cheat we need to be better at it too. NZ used to be the masters of it. Ire v good too

Whatever people think about Clive Woodward he's got an outstanding business head on his shoulders and sees the big picture warts and all.

Sure, the game will have moved forward significantly since he started what I would call the true professionalisation of international rugby, but I would back him all day long as director of English rugby. He is open to new ideas, to cutting edge, and crucially will fund and back those ideas for mid to long term success, which we desperately need.

Eddie Jones was always a 4 year cycle and we have kept him too long. There's a time and a place for EJ and he will be an asset for someone else one day, but no longer is he the asset for England.

It looks to me like we need the players to be given time to breathe, explore and express themselves as opposed to the rhythmical, obsessive turgid rubbish they keep being asked to churn out.

It has to be said, our breakdown and alarmingly- set piece- has got worse and worse since the change of coaching staff too, so I'd like to see some specialism and track record bought in to steady all set piece elements ahead of the RWC.

I don't think Richard Cockerill is the best coach for our forwards and I'm not surprised we haven't shown the dynamism you need in amongst the brutality.

I thought Sweeney had stated RFU funds were o.k at the select committee last week.

What would England give for props that can actually scrum. I did read Tom Curry won one turn over all campaign. Mario looks a shadow of himself. Other than Freddie we don't even look like we have any world class players. You are doing well to make good players worse. That is firmly a coaching and mind set issue.

As for Gatland we already play out of form players based on past history Combine that with a bloody awful to watch simple game plan. He is definitely the continuity candidate and will fit right in.

The RFU can probably make a couple phone calls to raise money for Eddie's buy out. Someone will be proud to put their name on it.

Dont forget Gatland had Shaun Edwards as the defence coach, so would Gats bring his own coaching team or have to use EJ's?

Crowd funding from England fans to get him out haha.

Bet Woodward's been lovin' it.
Scotland is too late. Now is probably too late, but at least now a new coach, even temporary, would have one 6Ns with the squad. Changing after Scotland would mean a wasted 6Ns and then just some summer warm up matches before the world cup.

Where do I add my contribution?
