Perpignan v Northampton

Maybe so, but it's strange how USAP were never pinged for any of their off-the-ball antics. Or high tackles. etc. etc.

*cough*

Fair play they were good value for their win, but that doesn't mean Owens wasn't a complete ***...

That's called "perfectly acceptable neutral reffing" in English. Except that usually it's the French and Italians getting the bad end. You'll get used to it.Stop the blatant rucks infringements for a start...

I thought in the first half Nigel Owens was very slow in awarding Perpignan a penalty try. Also a Saints player should have seen the bin after that. Seemed to be quite neutral overall though.

Criticism of the offical does not necessarily mean we are being one-eyed or attributing the defeat to the officials. We should, as fans of the game, be able to criticise the sub-standard performance of a referee who has affected a match as a spectacle. IMO, Owens was poor.

Well i though he was fine. Northampton's discipline cost them the game. Would have also helped if Geraghty had nailed his conversions.

Have to agree I didn't think Owens was that bad. Saints shot themselves in foot like after perfect discipline against Munster they were opposite and Perpignan were the better team throughout.

Northampton Saints players Brian Mujati and Juandre Kruger are both set to appear at independent Disciplinary Hearings as a result of citings from the Heineken Cup Round 2 match against Perpignan.
The citings lodged by the Citing Commissioner for the match, Murray Whyte (Ireland), were as follows:

Brian Mujati, the Northampton Saints replacement prop forward (No 18)

for an alleged push in the back of referee Nigel Owens (Wales) in contravention of Law 10.4 (l).

Law 10.4 (l) - Acts contrary to good sportsmanship.

Juandre Kruger, the Northampton Saints lock (No 5)

for alleged stamping on Perpignan player Nicolas Durand (No 9) in contravention of Law 10.4 B

Law 10.4 B Stamping - A player must not stamp on an opponent.

The independent Judicial Officer to hear both cases will be appointed as soon as practicable.

Quelle surprise, nothing was done about f***ing Tuilagi.[/b]

the maximum Tuilagi deserved was a yellow card during the game, certainly not to be cited afterwards
