Rugby 2012 - Classic Match Suggestions

The main classic team that I want is the 1997 All Blacks squad... That's my all time favourite... They dominated that year!

And it was Fitzy's last year...

My Suggestions
Scotland 1990
South Africa 1995
England 2003
Wales 1976
France 1987
Ireland 1972
All Blacks 1997
Australia 1991
Barbarians 1973
British Lions 1973

Interesting nobody has mentioned the 2005 All Blacks yet.

France 94 Victorious tour in NZ
France Wales 98 51-0
France NZ 99
France Ireland 2007
France NZ 2007

Wow, everyone wants classic games where NZ gets beaten. NZ'ers haven't requested many/any that have NZ beating other sides. We've just had people requesting our classic squads. I guess that says something about either these people admire/fear NZ or it's just insecurity. Win win for NZ I suppose.

This years' Wales Vs Scotland. You only get the last 10 minutes to score 3 tries.

Totally agree with this, that would be ace :p :p haha

95 world cup with NZ/England??? gotta have Lomu there (achievements if u successfully break X amount of tackles with Lomu??)
BaBa's 78 with Gareth edwards' Famous try
2003 world cup with Wilko drop goal?

its all up for discussion i guess

all star internationals would be great too

e.g welsh all stars with Gareth Edwards and Shane Williams in the same lineup. hhhhmmmm sounds good

Id be pleased if:

1995 World Cup with NZ-England. The Lomu Game
Barbarians 1978 with Gareth Edwards' Try
2003 World Cup Final Re-creation
2010 6 Nation Wales vs. Scotland
Blues vs. Leicester HEC SF 2009 (Penalty Shoot Out)

I think to make it easier for HB-studios, we must do some research on the games and sides we want for those matches like in the first post, for example venue, jerseys, players, half-time & full time score etc

You forget that the players were amatuers back in the day, no such thing as licensing.

While I would like classic matches and teams, I think its unnecessary until we get a great gameplay experience.

I'd say the wallabies 99 squad was one of the most impressive teams of all time.

Was a great year as well for the Wallabies, but I think you have to include Campese in a Classic Match, because he epitomises the word Classic.

Will never forget the day when Pieter Hendriks rounded at that time the best Wing in the world :)

As much as I love the idea of having Authentic Classic Matches. I just can't see it happening with the limited time and funding as EA are not currently backing the game.
I think a more realistic option would be to introduce 20 Unlock-able Legends after winning the World Cup with that country. The players could be drafted into any team or create your own team.

My proposed Legends would include:
Wales: Gareth Edwards, Jonathan Davies, JPR Williams
England: Jason Leonard, Jeremy Guscott, Martin Johnson
Ireland: Keith Wood, Willie John McBride,
Scotland: Gavin Hastings, Ian McGeechan
Aus: David Campese, Michael Lynagh, John Eals
NZ: Jonah Lomu, Sean Fitzpatrick, Zinzan Brooke
SA: Joost Van Westhuizen, Francois Pienaar, Os du Randt

France: Serge Blanco, Philippe Sella, Christophe Dominici
